It’s Official – Major DCEU Actor About to Leave the Franchise Permanently

The DCEU is blessed with extremely talented actors that have managed to carry the story and the franchise forward even though the box office has not been kind to them. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman are the very trinity of superheroes on the DCEU spectrum – something Warner Bros. should be proud of. But here’s the catch – the Studio is so infamous when it comes to handling its own actors and directors that it sometimes becomes very difficult for an actor to stay within. Maybe that is why one of them has decided to leave the franchise for good. Presenting – It’s Official – MAJOR DCEU actor about to leave the franchise permanently!!!

Can you guess which actor are we talking about? It is something many have considered to become a major subject of discussion and a highly controversial topic within the fan base. The actor can be credited with jumpstarting the DCEU franchise and helping it reach the level of stardom it has achieved right now.

It is Ben Affleck aka Batman of the DC Extended Universe. Ben Affleck is all but set to leave the DCEU franchise for good and we can thank WB for this huge blunder. Affleck’s on again-off again relationship with the DCEU started when Matt Reeves took over the reins of the upcoming The Batman movie. Rumours started to float that Affleck will soon be replaced by a younger actor like Jake Gyllenhaal or Michael Fassbender. A huge section of the fanbase defended Affleck, claiming his portrayal of the Batman is the truest essence of the Dark Knight from the comic books while another smaller section claimed the Ben Affleck’s Batman was just a brooding, older version of Bruce Wayne that could never survive against the changing backdrops of the DCEU. WB has leaked out news that claims DCEU is giving Affleck the Pink Slip.

DCEU Actor About to Leave

Forbes Contributor Mark Hughes, who claims he has inside information regarding the latest developments within the DCEU franchise, was the one who let out this news. Hughes says that Ben Affleck has already been ousted as Batman from the Batman movie and a recent barrage of twitter posts corroborated his claim.

Hughes has been currently seen working for a new Batman story and handling the casting details for the upcoming DCEU movie slate. When a fan follower asked Hughes whether Ben Affleck is going to stay within the DCEU now, he replies:

“He’s not Batman in this movie,” Hughes explained. “As of now, there are no plans to involve Affleck, and the situation behind the scenes is that he’s been arranging his exit from the DCEU for months. I know fans hate to hear this, but it’s time to prepare yourselves for Batman without Affleck.”

Then came another fan to try and fight Hughes to a standstill!! He wanted to know if his statement was the official verdict of the WB DCEU franchise. To that, Hughes replies:

“I can’t ‘officially’ declare anything since I’m not at WB,” he responded. “But we’ve all known this was coming and have been saying it for months, it’s not really new. I ran an article on it a couple of months ago.”

Hughes was also the author of another article in Forbes that said which actors he would like to take on the role of Major Superheroes within the DCEU movies. Ben Affleck did not get featured in the article and he specifically claimed he did not see Ben returning to play the Caped Crusader. Looks like Ben Affleck will hang up the cape and let go of the cowl to watch someone else take on the role of Batman. But the question is – whether the news is legit or just another one of those internet hoaxes?? As long as it is not confirmed, we advise you to take it with the largest pinch of salt you can find.

Ben Affleck last appeared as the Batman in Justice League. The official synopsis of the movie reads:

Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity, and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly-awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes in Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash, it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
