John Wick: Chapter 4 is the next installment in the action-packed franchise that promises to raise the stakes even higher. Keanu Reeves reprises his iconic role as John Wick in the upcoming Chapter 4. With a runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes, the film aims to outdo its predecessors in terms of action and choreography. Reeves’ portrayal of the skilled assassin has become legendary, leaving fans wondering if Wick will ever meet his end. The answer seems to be no, as long as Reeves is willing to continue embodying the character.
Ian McShane reprises his role as Winston, the owner of the Continental, who previously labeled John Wick “excommunicado” after he killed a High Table crime lord in the hotel. The two have a history together, with Winston even shooting John at the end of Chapter 3, leading him to believe that the assassin was dead. It will be interesting to see how Winston reacts to Wick’s return, especially when he learns of his killing ways.
Lawrence Fishburne returns as the Bowery King, an underground crime lord who has been a guardian angel for John Wick since Chapter 2. Natalia Tena, who played Nymphadora Tonks in the Harry Potter franchise and Osha in Game of Thrones, is joining the cast of John Wick 4 as Katia. While little is known about her character, she is likely to be an ally from John’s past who plays a role in his journey.
Aimée Kwan is a newcomer to the franchise, playing the character Mia. Based on footage from the trailers, it appears that Mia could be a close relative to Donnie Yen’s Caine maybe his niece or even his daughter.
Marko Zaror’s Chidi is set to play the right-hand man to the protagonist in John Wick 4, providing him with much-needed muscle. The Chilean actor has a background in action films and has even acted as a stunt double for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the past. It remains to be seen how much of a role Chidi will play in the story, but with Zaror’s experience in the genre, audiences can expect some impressive fight scenes.
The only recasting in Chapter 4 is that of the Elder, who was previously played by Saïd Taghmaoui in John Wick 3. George Georgiou is set to take over the role of the mysterious leader of the High Table, who presides in the desert. The Elder may play another important role after John’s act of severing his own finger in John Wick 3 to show his loyalty to the High Table. It remains to be seen how Georgiou’s portrayal will compare to Taghmaoui’s, but fans can expect another enigmatic performance from the character.
