Disney Releases New Iron Man Post-Credits Scene

Disney has released a previously unseen version of the post-credits scene from Iron Man, the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The new Iron Man post-credits scene was released by director Jon Favreau during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and features Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury uttering his iconic line in a way that audiences had never seen before.

The post-credits scene from Iron Man set the standard for all subsequent MCU movies to feature a post-credits stinger. In the original scene, Nick Fury tells Tony Stark about the Avengers Initiative, laying the groundwork for Marvel’s cinematic universe. The scene has since become an iconic moment in MCU history. During the interview, Favreau revealed that he had asked Jackson to film a take “just for fun” during the shoot in 2007. The newly released version of the scene features Jackson’s Fury delivering his line with an expletive not included in the original scene, with the actor delivering the memorable phrase, “Nick Fury, motherf***er.”

The scene, which was previously locked away in the Marvel archives, has been released in response to fans’ interest in deleted scenes from the MCU. However, despite the excitement surrounding the new footage, it is unlikely that the F-word version of the scene would have been included in the original movie, even before Disney purchased Marvel Studios. Iron Man was released in 2008 and starred Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, with Jackson playing the role of Fury. The movie grossed over $585 million at the global box office and launched the MCU, which has since gone on to become one of the most successful movie franchises of all time.

The MCU now comprises over 20 movies and TV shows, with a number of upcoming releases scheduled for the next few years. One of the most highly anticipated upcoming projects is Deadpool 3, which is confirmed to be the first R-rated project in the MCU. Fans are eagerly anticipating the first official F-bomb in MCU history, which could come in the form of a line from Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. As for the possibility of Jackson’s Fury using his iconic phrase in a future MCU project, only time will tell. Despite the success of the MCU, it remains one of the most tightly controlled movie franchises in Hollywood, with little information being released about upcoming projects until they are ready for release.

Iron Man is currently available to stream on Disney+, giving fans the opportunity to revisit the movie that started it all. The movie is widely regarded as one of the best in the MCU, thanks to its thrilling action sequences, sharp humor, and excellent performances from its lead cast. In addition to Downey Jr. and Jackson, Iron Man also starred Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane. The movie was directed by Favreau, who went on to direct Iron Man 2 and serve as an executive producer on several other MCU movies.

The MCU has become a cultural phenomenon since the release of Iron Man in 2008, with fans eagerly anticipating each new release. The franchise has grossed over $22 billion at the global box office and has become a pop culture phenomenon in its own right. With the MCU continuing to expand, it is likely that fans will continue to be treated to new and exciting moments from their favorite characters in the years to come. Whether or not Jackson’s Fury will ever get the chance to use his iconic phrase in an official MCU project remains to be seen, but fans will no doubt be keeping a close eye on future releases for any hints of what’s to come.
