Farhan Akhtar Discusses His Future as Waleed in Ms Marvel
Marvel finally introduced us to Farhan Akhtar’s character Waleed in Ms Marvel episode 4. Apparently, he turned out to be the prime Red Dagger who helped Kamala Khan and Kareem survive the attack of the Clandestines. But what’s next for him in the MCU? SPOILER WARNING for those who haven’t seen episode 4 yet. We’re gonna talk spoilers.
Indian fans were eagerly waiting to see the very talented Farhan Akhtar make his MCU debut. And many of them were disappointed to see how Waleed died after spending 5 minutes on screen in total. But since it is a comic book universe, people were still left asking whether he was truly dead. Apparently, even Akhtar is not clear on his character’s fate.
In an interview with Screen Rant, he shared his disappointment with how quickly Kareem left Waleed for the dead. He said:
“Yeah, I think so too. I mean, that boy, I’ve trained him and trained him all these years, and the least he could do, I think, was check my pulse. [laughs]
He was like, “Leave him! He’s dead!” Wait! It’s just a flesh wound.”
Akhtar suggests that it could just be a flesh wound. But I don’t think that he has a future in the MCU. It’s almost like Waleed came in only to give us an exposition dump about the history of the Clandestines and the Red Daggers. He served his purpose and I wouldn’t hold any high hopes for his return. Would you guys like to see him return in the future? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
