The Location of Bruce Banner in Shang-Chi Post-Credits Scene Revealed

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is amongst the best projects that we have gotten to see from Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 4 has some rather exciting things planned for us based on the projects that it kicked it off with. The upcoming shows will allow us to have some interesting insight into some of the characters we have only been able to explore as Avengers. One of the most exciting things about the post-credits scene for Shang-Chi was the chance to see Bruce Banner and Carole Danvers since the Endgame. But there was a lot of confusion based on Banner’s appearance and his actual location during his holographic appearance in the scene. A new Shang-Chi update has clearly shown the location of Bruce Banner during his appearance in the post-credits scene.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi was one of the most exciting projects that fans got to witness from MCU following the pandemic. The movie explored the narrative of a solo venture for the titular hero and it delivered. It featured some of the most exciting moments in terms of the exciting fight sequences in the movie. The movie managed to fix one of the biggest mistakes in the MCU in terms of the villain Mandarin. In a rather hilarious way, it corrects the Ten Rings history in the MCU by calling the previous rendition a knockoff. There are a lot of exciting things that appear in the movie with the final battle being a massive CGI visual treat. But fans of the MCU were a lot more focused on another wholly different element of the movie.

Ever since it was found that Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and Brie Larson’s Carole Danvers would be appearing, fans were much excited to see that. The movie featured them for a very short duration but it has definitely been a long time since we had seen these Avengers. Fans started taking notice of the appearances in order to understand what might have happened to them over this period of time. Bruce Banners seems to have become a human again from his Smart Hulk form. Even though fans figured we will get to see about Captain Marvel’s narrative in Ms. Marvel, the same cannot be said for Bruce Banner. But a new revelation from the movie might have given a much deeper insight regarding his location during his appearance in the post-credits scene.

The Location of Bruce Banner in Shang-Chi

Weta VFX supervisor Sean Walker’s interview with Variety gave some interesting insight into the post-credits scene for Shang-Chi. Walker said that the entire scene was put together in four days. He said:

I just sat down two compositors and two effects artists, and just said, ‘Come up with something and let your imagination go wild.’ Within four days they came up with the entire sequence.

He gave some details regarding the location of the individual characters for the scene too. According to him Awkwafina and Simu Liu were on different stages and Mark Ruffalo was somewhere else entirely. Here he says,

[Ruffalo’s Bruce was] in his own laboratory, but we had to bring them all together into one final shot.

The biggest surprise for the fans was that they got to see Banner in full Bruce Banner mode. This was not the case the last time we saw him, as he was in the Smart Hulk mode that included the best of two. There is no clear indication if he has been able to take full control over Hulk yet because fans imagined Smart Hulk would be the best possible mode. But his presence in a laboratory might have some links to the events of the upcoming Disney+ series She-Hulk. The character is supposed to spend a significant time in his lab during the series.

She-Hulk will premiere on Disney+ sometime this year.
