The Suicide Squad Star Joel Kinnaman Under Investigation for Rape Charges
James Gunn is a miracle worker, only he could have taken a disaster such as 2016’s Suicide Squad and rebooted it so thoroughly that we enjoyed the current iteration. The Suicide Squad is a fun ride, contrary to the older version. We have more emotion, better action, and a cohesive story. One of the things that carry over from the older version is Captain Rick Flag. He is Amanda Waller’s attack dog who is in charge of shepherding the criminals in an orderly fashion. The entire team is held together by this man’s sheer will. But there is some disturbing news for Joel Kinnaman who plays the character. Apparently, the actor has a stalker, who has alleged sexual attack put Joel Kinnaman under Investigation for Rape charges.
The actor has been very vocal about the fallout with her former girlfriend and model, Bella Davis. The Swedish model had dated Kinnaman during 2018 but the pair had split up after some time. Kinnaman talked on Instagram about how Bella had harassed him after the breakup and continued to obsess over him even when she was informed that Kinnaman was seeing someone else. Bella Davis is the person who has now filed a complaint against Kinnaman alleging rape. An important thing to mention is that Joel has already sought a restraining order against Bella and warned his fans that a rape charge may be on the way.
The Investigation
E! News reports that following the complaint the police have launched an investigation of the matter. They have taken into evidence the messages that Joel has presented and have refrained from commenting any further. We are only told that the investigation is ongoing and the results will be communicated when it is completed. It obviously won’t be right to comment on anything before the investigation comes to an end.
The attorneys of the tie had this to say:
It appears that after learning of the restraining order, she filed her complaint. The court papers that Mr. Kinnaman filed stated, among other things, that Ms. Davis threatened to publicize false information about Mr. Kinnaman—including that he had sex with her against her will—unless he capitulated to her monetary and other demands, which included Hollywood introductions, a work visa sponsorship, a blue verification checkmark on Instagram, and more. Mr. Kinnaman will be cooperating with police to clear his name.
We are not quite sure who to believe, but we do know that the person who is in the wrong must be punished. Be it Bella or Joel. Sexual assault and rape are no joking matters, we hope that the justice system will do its best. What do you think about this?
