The Eternals is a term that we’re gonna hear much more about from now onwards as a movie with the same is scheduled to release on 5th November 2021. One of the well-known facts about the Eternals is that they were created by the Celestials. They are the next evolutionary step in the process to create humans beings. They have a long lifespan but are particularly not immortals. Following this, their enemies were also created by the Celestials.
The Celestials appear to be almost extinct in the modern MCU, but ‘Eternals’ is expected to span millennia. In the comics, the Celestials were the ones who created the Eternals and the Deviants. Their role seems to have been switched up a little in the MCU as some comments have suggested the Eternals’ origin have changed. They are now powerful aliens who were sent to Earth to protect humanity. However, the Celestials are still involved. Now, leaked merchandise has offered fans a look at promotional artwork featuring the cosmic beings.
An Eternal can never truly die, they can always be awakened to fight the Deviants in the time of stress. The Eternals will be seen defending the Earth against their ancient foes, the Deviants. Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Don Lee, Richard Madden, Lauren Ridloff, Gemma Chan, Barry Keoghan, and Lia McHugh are all set to appear in the eponymous race of super-powered beings who have lived amongst the human race since long, and before mankind. Some Eternals merchandise recently slipped through the net, published by Kohls and spotted by Murphy’s Multiverse before it was taken down. The images feature promotional art of both the Celestials and Kro, leader of the Deviants.
It’s reasonable to assume the merchandise was published by accident, because at one point Eternals was scheduled to release in February 2021. The designs are stunning. It’s interesting to see how much they focus on Arishem. He serves as a judge figure in the comics. It increasingly looks as though he is the most prominent of the Celestials in the film. The artistic style is reminiscent of Jonathan Hickman and Dustin Weaver’s SHIELD series. Perhaps, suggesting the designs have been influenced by modern interpretations as much as those by Jack Kirby, who created the Eternals.
The movie was pushed back to November as a knock-on effect of the coronavirus pandemic. Marvel is by no means the first film studio to struggle to prevent tie-ins and merchandise leaking during this period. Marvel is particularly reluctant to allow information to come out on upcoming projects right now, presumably waiting until they’re more confident about hitting release dates; they haven’t even put out an official trailer for Eternals yet. For now, leaks like this are all that fans can get. There is no ambiguity in the fact that Eternals is being teased as one of the most ambitious Marvel films to date. It’s directed by Chloé Zhao, whose recent film Nomadland premiered on Hulu and has been garnering critical acclaim and awards buzz.
Ever since its release date pushing from November 5 to November 6, 2021, fans need it now more than ever because the last Marvel pulled off something like this, it was a huge hit amongst the fan and otherwise at the box office, and they gave us our favorite humorous gang of heroes called Guardians of the Galaxy. Kevin Feige called Zhao’s pitch for Eternals “the best he’d ever heard,” and the director has admitted that Marvel has taken a big risk on the movie. She has teased an epic film that spans centuries, filming on multiple locations, and has cited The Revenant as a reference for its action scenes.
There are a total of five generations of Eternals – First were born before the fall of Titanos which was their personal city. 2nd generation Eternals were alive at the time of the catastrophic experiment pulled off by Kronos (1st general Eternal). 3rd generation Eternals were born after Kronos’ experiment. 4th generation was born after the coming of the Second Host and the 5th general were born after the Third Host.
