Iron Man Deleted Scene:

The Marvel Cinematic Universe played their biggest gamble in 2008, by releasing Iron Man, which luckily for them played off in their favor and gave the Marvel Cinematic storyline to let go of all the reigns they were holding. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, (2008) Iron Man gave Marvel the right nudge they needed in the right direction to advance the storyline in the multiple Marvel chapters to come. A recent release of the short-deleted clip from the Iron Man (2008) movie shows was Colonel James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes was when the ambush on Tony Stark happened. But the clip also raises quite a few plots which do not connect to the dots and has left many fans with a question as to why Colonel James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes was not around to save Tony.

The 2008s Iron Man started by diving right into the heart of the action and taking all the viewers directly to the highway. The scene starts with Robert Downey Jr. breaking the awkward silence in the Military Humvee in which he is been escorted back to the airstrip and the soldiers about to get their picture clicked with him when suddenly the lead convoy Military Humvee is blown up in a ball of smoke. After that, it’s all a rush of events which ends with Tony running out of the Military Humvee to survive the hailstorm of bullets and is caught in the crossfire with a Stark industry-made mortar blowing up just a few inches away from him in his face.

The rest is history, where we see Tony during his 3-month captivity manages to build a suit of armor from metal scraps and spare parts instead of the Jericho missile that he promised he would make to the leader ‘Raza’ of the terrorist organization known as the ’10 Rings’. He manages to break through their defenses only to find that his comrade, who helped him to make the Mark I armor ‘Yinsen’ would not survive to see another day.

Tony somehow breaks through and manages to escape by igniting the rocket boosters built into the Mark I armor and escaping the place he was held captive in. Post this we see walk through the desert and when all hope seemed lost, see the search party who were looking for Tony sweep in to finally rescue him from the horrific ordeal. During his return we see Tony keep the means of his escape a secret, but not for long.

Where Was Colonel James Rhodey

In a recent video released by Disney+, it shows a deleted scene from the Iron Man (2008) of Colonel James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes actually in a Military Humvee just behind the military Humvee in which Tony Stark was actually in and him getting behind the .50 caliber gun mounted on the military Humvee and returning suppress fire to allow the convoy escape the brutal ambush.

But during this time, we see Tony Stark jumping out of his military Humvee and looking to dash for a cover and sees his friend Colonel James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes returning fire to ward off the terrorists. On seeing Tony emerge out of the military Humvee Colonel James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes is kind of relieved but is also trying to keep his friend alive by telling him to keep his head down. Unaware of what was going around Tony tries to pick up an assault rifle of a soldier who had fallen during the ambush to return fire but is unable to make the gun work. In an attempt to save himself and to get out of the crossfire we see Tony Stark run to the side of the road trying to find cover.

Just then he takes out his phone and tries to make contact with, we are guessing ‘Happy Hogan’ and sees a stark industry mortar fall next o him and blow upon his face. So again, we Stark falling to the ground unraveling the bulletproof vest that he was wearing, and falling unconscious. Now this is what is troubling fans, as to why did Colonel James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes did not come looking for Stark. The only possible reason is that in a particular scene we see Colonel James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes and another more solid duck for cover as the convoy gets bombarded with another explosive shell rendering both the soldier’s unconscious and with no one left standing up to defend the convoy is taken over the terrorist who ambushed the convoy and take Tony Stark hostage. But here is another plot hole, why did they not kill Colonel James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes and the other soldier if they had already overpowered the convoy.
