Falcon & Winter Soldier: Another Avenger Confirmed To Appear On The Show

Falcon & Winter Soldier: Another Avenger Confirmed

Kevin Feige earlier stated that Marvel Studios has been working towards big-budget television shows, and officially moved to the small screen whilst kicking off Marvel’s Phase 4 with WandaVision. But that was always not the case. Marvel’s Phase 4 was supposed to kick off with The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, but that was eventually pushed back, and Marvel Studios decided WandaVision take the lead. It came as the right decision as the fans are enjoying the weekly surprises. The series, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, is now slated to debut in March.

Falcon And The Winter Soldier Trailer Description

We have some really exciting news regarding Disney+’s The Falcon & The Winter Soldier. Don Cheadle confirms War Machine will appear in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series. During an interview with BroBible, actor Don Cheadle discussed his MCU future as James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes aka War Machine. It was during this interview that Cheadle confirmed that he’ll appear in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. His role in the series was not previously reported, but there was some speculation about him returning for the show. Cheadle didn’t reveal how big of a role War Machine will have in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier though.

Marvel Superhero Could Replace Captain America

Ever since Steve Rogers passed down the torch to Sam Wilson in good faith, people have been really excited and anxious to see what will happen Captain America’s legacy. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will be the first time Sam and Bucky lead an MCU project, and while they are the focus of the show, there are several other familiar characters who will appear. Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) are returning for the series, marking their first appearances since Captain America: Civil War. The show will also introduce some new characters from Marvel’s comic history, such as the John Walker (Wyatt Russell). In addition to smaller characters like Batroc the Leaper (Georges St-Pierre) returning too, another Avenger is now confirmed. The list just keeps getting better now.

War Machine and the Falcon, as the two ariel Avengers, started developing a bond in Avengers: Infinity War, and it was really good to watch. War Machine’s return in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is an exciting development for the series that also makes a lot of sense. They both were part of the New Avengers lineup at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, but whatever friendship they might have hasn’t been fully explored. Now that Sam is without Captain America and Rhodey is without Iron Man, their shared loss of their best friends is something The Falcon and The Winter Soldier could explore.

Marvel Studios is developing an Armor Wars series for Disney+ that will star War Machine. There hasn’t been any direct setup for the show so far, but The Falcon and The Winter Soldier could change that potentially. If Sam and Bucky discover that someone is using Stark technology or that it is floating around on the black market, they could alert War Machine ahead of Armor Wars. Now that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is confirmed to feature War Machine, it also means the show could set up Rhodey’s upcoming solo adventure. In any case, War Machine’s involvement in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier gives the show another opportunity to build off the MCU’s past and shape its future.
