Is WandaVision Bringing Ms. Marvel & The Inhumans?
WandaVision is not our regular sci-fi series, only it is so much more than that. There have been many theories regarding the show, like people claiming that Westview is a prison for witches where Wanda is trapped, and that Vision is the biggest threat to Wanda’s alternate reality. But the one that really excites people is the possibility of WandaVision introducing mutants and the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It seems very much possible seeing how Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) is a mutant herself – if we stick to the source material, telling us that Magneto is her father.
This leads to an eventual explanation from Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings), where she explains that Wanda’s reality is encapsulated with a certain type of radiation. “[There’s] A colossal amount of CMBR… Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation… There are longer wavelengths superimposed over the noise here,” the character says. CMBR is energy left over from the earliest stages of the universe, created by the Big Bang. Though that’s not really notable itself when it comes to Inhumans, the location of this whole scenario is, at the very least, worthy of asking the question. Is there any way that when WandaWorld finally does explode, could this radiation be what empowers Khan and other Inhumans in the area? The fictional city of Westview is located in New Jersey, and Ms. Marvel just so happens famous for residing in Jersey City.
Inhumans are a race of powered beings first introduced in Agents of SHIELD, something the film side of the MCU has largely stayed away from. In the series, they explain that Inhumans are only granted powers after interaction with Terrigen, a hallmark staple of the characters, even in their comic stories. it could stand to reason Kevin Feige and company gift Kamala Khan powers a different way, rather than diving headfirst into the world of Terrigen right from the get-go.
It will be really exciting to see WandaVision set up The Inhumans and Ms. Mavel, considering WandaVision is kicking off Marvel’s Phase 4 and has a lot of expectations to live up to. It is famously out there that the first two episodes of WandaVision were not well received by the mass audience and they claimed it to be very slow and boring. But episode 4 and 4 pored that Marvel Studios has planned exactly for this, and they clearly know what they’re doing. In the course of its nine episodes, WandaVision is through with its fourth episode, which means we are almost always through with the series.
Which another character would you like to see being set up in WandaVision? WandaVision is currently streaming on Disney+ and premiered on January 15, 2021.
