All Dead MCU Heroes Who Will Not Be Brought Back To Life

Marvel has found several ways to kill off characters and then bring them back to life. Loki was killed off in Infinity War, but then Marvel brought a multiverse counterpart of him back in Endgame. The same happened with Gamora. What’s funny is that the likes of Thanos & Nick Fury were killed and brought back within the same movies. Some characters like Vision & Quicksilver were killed off in a way that their return would seem impossible. But, they will be brought back in the coming future. But, there are some characters whose deaths will remain permanent, no matter what. Here are the characters that will never be brought back, unless it is in a flashback or a prequel:

Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow

Natasha Romanoff’s death is permanent. Bruce even tried to bring her back, but it didn’t happen. A sacrifice made for the soul stone just can’t be reversed in any way. Because of how Black Widow died in the Endgame, she won’t even be brought back through the multiverse. Gamora has been brought back from an alternate timeline, but we won’t see the same repeated with Natasha, because then her sacrifice would be ruined. So, get ready to say goodbye to Scarlett Johansson’s MCU character as we will see the last of her in the upcoming prequel.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man

MCU Heroes Who Will Not Be Brought Back To Life

Tony Stark’s sacrifice is the king of all movie sacrifices. He saved the entire Universe by taking out Thanos & his entire army with just a snap of his fingers. And to follow that, he got a big funeral where the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe mourned his death. So, he is someone who will never be brought back. We might see Tony making a cameo in Black Widow, but that’s going to take place in the past. As far as resurrections or multiverse cameos are concerned, rumors have suggested that Kevin Feige is looking to bring in new actors like Tom Cruise to portray alternate universe Avengers. So, Robert Downey Jr. is surely done with the MCU for good.

Michael Rooker’s Yondu

Yondu’s sacrifice in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was integral to the story. Gunn was recently asked whether he will bring Yondu back in the future, and here’s what he replied: I get sometimes you can bring back characters in a cool way. But usually, if a character dies, & it’s a meaningful part of the story, the character should stay dead. So unless it’s a flashback, Yondu will stay dead, as far as I’m concerned. Otherwise, it ruins his sacrifice.” This statement doesn’t just explain why Yondu won’t return, but it also explains why Tony or Natasha cannot return either.

Idris Elba’s Heimdall

Heimdall knew that he’d lose his life for sending Hulk back to Earth. But he also understood that the Avengers will be the last line of defense against Thanos, and they need to be warned. So, he was willing to die and now he is done with the MCU for good. Idris Elba probably won’t want to return either. He wasn’t really fond of his character, and we know that he deserved to play a bigger character. So now that he is done, we probably won’t even see a Multiverse counterpart of him.

Honorable Mention – Phil Coulson

MCU Heroes Who Will Not Be Brought Back To Life

Phil Coulson’s death was crucial in The Avengers. He was the one to give the Avengers the push that they needed. Yes, he was brought back to life in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but it has been confirmed that the show took place in a different Universe. So as far as Phil Coulson of the main MCU is concerned, he is still dead. Now that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has also ended after its 7 seasons, Kevin Feige won’t even need to acknowledge it as a part of MCU’s Multiverse. So, we think that Coulson will always remain dead.
