10 Movies That Deserve a Remake in this Day and Age

Movies That Deserve a Remake:

It is always nice to see our favorite stories as movie adaptations, but sometimes the story doesn’t get the respect it truly deserves. Bad scripts, bad acting, and sometimes bad timing have ruined a lot of good stories and we believe these movies can be improved a lot if remade properly. These stories deserve a second chance and the makers should listen to the fans.

#1: Eragon (2006)

Fans have been demanding for Eragon to be remade for a long time and they even started petitions but to no avail. We would gladly sign any petition if that leads to this movie being remade as Eragon has everything to become the next grand franchise. It is full of fantastical creatures and characters. The 2006 movie butchered the entire story, a lot of important stuff is cut and the dialogues are laughable.

#2: The Last Airbender (2010)

Bad Movies From Awesome Directors

The Avatar TV series is considered to be one of the best TV series of all time and this movie is the polar opposite of the series. We never knew disappointment like this even existed before watching this movie. M. Night Shyamalan completely murdered this awesome story. The wounds we got from this movie are still fresh and only a deserving remake can heal us now.

#3: Spawn (1997)

Superpowers Comic Books

Back in the 90s, comic book movies were not appreciated but this movie cannot use that excuse to justify its failure. It has a messy plot and there is little to no character development. We believe it is about time we get a good Superhero movie that isn’t Marvel or DC, and Spawn is perfect for that role. The remake with Jamie Foxx as Spawn was announced a while back and we just hope it materializes as soon as possible.

#4: Percy Jackson Trilogy (2010 – 2013)

Movies Better as TV Series

We still believe that Percy Jackson should get the big-screen treatment it deserves even though Rick Riordan has announced a Percy Jackson TV series. The trilogy did not stick to the source material at all and paid a heavy price for it. It has such a fantastic story and we want nothing more than to enjoy it on the big screen.

#5: Green Lantern (2011)

Marvel Actors Worked in DC Movies

We are not the only ones who think that DC’s one of the most popular Superheroes deserves a good movie. This movie could have started something big but it fell flat thanks to its ridiculous script. Green Lantern’s remake has been in the works since 2014 and so far, there is no concrete news about the remake which is disappointing.

#6: The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)

We really wanted to like this movie, but we just can’t no matter how hard we try. This movie has such a fantastic cast and we all know how amazing the story is, but the makers couldn’t convert this opportunity. This story certainly deserves a better movie and it is the perfect time to remake this movie.

#7: The Golden Compass (2007)

It is unfortunate that the makers of this movie decided to dumb it down for the audiences and ruined such a great story. HBO’s ‘His Dark Materials’ is a good adaptation of this story, but this story deserves to be viewed on a big screen. We just hope it is remade, after some time, given that it already has a TV show that is currently on air.

#8: Fantastic Four (2015)

X-Men Fantastic Four Crossover Fox Civil War

We’ll probably get a lot of flak for this, but we just can’t help it. We just want a good live-action Fantastic Four movie. Is it too much to ask? This movie is already a remake, and it is even worse than the original. We didn’t even think that was possible. Now that Kevin Feige is handling this franchise, our dreams will come true. Just hire John Krasinski and Emily Blunt in the remake, and we are golden.

#9: Doom (2005)

We don’t even consider Doom: Annihilation (2019) to be the remake of the original as it is downright disrespectful to the source material and the fans. The original Doom movie is awful, and Annihilation makes it look like a masterpiece. Doom has the potential to become one of the best action franchises of all time, and we hope it gets a proper live-action movie in the future.

#10: The Dark Tower (2017)

The Dark Tower is one of the biggest movie mess-ups of the past few years. It had every opportunity to become the next biggest movie franchise – Matthew McConaughey, Idris Elba working together in a movie based on Stephen King’s work. But the result was nothing short of a nightmare. The makers crammed 8 books into 90 minutes and expected us to shower them with praise.
