Dune – New Photos & Synopsis of the Biggest Film in 2020 Revealed

Dune: New Photos

Josh Brolin starred in the biggest movies of 2018 (Avengers: Infinity War & Deadpool 2). He returned as Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, the biggest film of 2019. And now he will also star in what’s potentially going to be the biggest movie of 2020, Dune. This film is based on the Frank Herbert’s seminal sci-fi novel of the same name. This film will also spawn a sequel as the director revealed that the world of this adaptation is way too complex to be tackled with just one film.

Dune – New Photos & Synopsis

Director Denis Villeneuve told Vanity Fair:

“It’s a book that tackles politics, religion, ecology, spirituality—and with a lot of characters. I think that’s why it’s so difficult. Honestly, it’s by far the most difficult thing I’ve done in my life. I would not agree to make this adaptation of the book with one single movie. The world is too complex. It’s a world that takes its power in details.”

WB has released a batch of photos via Vanity Fair. Take a look:

Dune – New Photos & Synopsis

Here’s the official Synopsis of Dune:

“The trouble begins when stewardship of Arrakis is transferred by the Emperor from the Harkonnen Noble House to House Atreides. The Harkonnens don’t want to give up their privilege, though, and through sabotage and treachery they cast young Duke Paul Atreides out into the planet’s harsh environment to die. There he falls in with the Fremen, a tribe of desert dwellers who become the basis of the army with which he will reclaim what’s rightfully his. Paul Atreides, though, is far more than just a usurped duke. He might be the end product of a very long-term genetic experiment designed to breed a super human; he might be a messiah. His struggle is at the center of a nexus of powerful people and events, and the repercussions will be felt throughout the Imperium.”

The film arrives on December 18, 2020.
