10 Ways Spider-Man Could be Removed From The MCU in The Future

Spider-Man could be removed from the MCU:

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man may have been kept within the boundaries of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for now but the day is not far when the overlords at Sony will snatch away our friendly neighborhood superhero from Marvel and force him to begin life anew in another universe under a different banner. Many fans were unhappy with the news of Spider-Man leaving the MCU. The news of Spider-Man featuring in just two more Marvel movies before packing bags to move to another universe hit everyone hard. But if Marvel is considering ways to root Peter Parker out of their superhero universe, these are some of the ways they could do it.

 1. Goes Off-Planet

Spider-Man could be removed

We know Nick Fury is currently in space. After the Marvel Cinematic Universe revealed to us the existence of Skrulls – shape-shifting aliens that can take the form of anyone, things were never going to be the same. The Skrull leader Talos, who was one of the lead characters in Captain Marvel, was revealed to be the one masquerading as the Director of Shield.

Spider-Man could be removed

The real Director of Shield, Nick Fury, was not even on the planet. He was up above in deep space. He was creating a framework of space stations as his initiative to create S.W.O.R.D. Spider-Man could become a part of SWORD and start operating off-planet. His cover on Earth is anyways blown. He would make a better superhero else-where now.

 2. Voluntary Retirement

Spider-Man

Retirement is for old people – Right?! Well, that is not the norm anymore. Anyone who believes they would like to live the rest of their lives in peace can retire. And it is not like Peter Parker would be retiring from active life as a journalist. He would just not don the mask and save the world anymore. That is something we could actually see him do. Spider-Man has been called a kid and too young to be a superhero so many times in the movies. The movies could show that Spider-Man understood what it actually meant and that he needs to live up the rest of his teenage days as a normal person.

 3. Is killed off in the next Avengers movie

removed from the MCU

As of now, we only know that Spider-Man will appear in two more Marvel movies. One will be a standalone production while the next movie installment he will star in will be in the fifth Avengers movie. The Friendly Neighbourhood Wall-Crawler is leaving. The Marvel Cinematic Universe needs to make sure they give one of their most loved and flagship superheroes a proper farewell. Avengers 5 could turn Peter Parker into the next Iron Man. Maybe they will kill him as part of his heroic sacrifice to save the rest of the world. The protégé of Iron Man will follow on the steps of his mentor to complete the circle once and for all.

 4. He will just leave the Avengers

removed from the MCU

This might be a huge possibility. Sony would like some elements of Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe version to exist. They could do that by just taking Tom Holland’s Spidey from the Marvel Universe and dropping him in Sony. This change in plot direction of the main character would be done by making Spider-Man leave the Avengers altogether. Peter Parker will still be the Spider-Man. He will just work in a different circle of events. The idea is not far-fetched and makes the most sense as a way to make Spider-Man leave the MCU. Sony will reap huge benefits out of this strategy since they will be able to get some elements from the MCU storylines weaved into theirs.

 5. Gets absorbed into Sony through the Multi-Verse Concept

removed from the MCU

It is common knowledge that the concept of the Multi-Verse is something people are aware of in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Multiple Parallel realities co-existing in tandem is not science fiction for them. It is very much a reality. Mysterio’s lie that he belongs to a parallel universe did not mean that the Multi-Verse did not exist. Peter Parker knew about it. With things taking up such cosmic scales in the coming future of the MCU movies, the stage is set for Spider-Man to be sucked into a worm-hole and enter the Sony Venom-Verse. It is improbable but a possibility nonetheless.

 6. Loses his powers in the MCU

Spider-Man

It is not like it has not happened in the past. Spider-Man has lost his powers several times in the comic books. In Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, we have the first live-action depiction of what happens when Spider-Man starts losing control of his powers and becomes a normal human being. When Spider-Man lost his powers for good in the comic books, it was Tony Stark who created the Iron Spider suit for Parker to keep his ruse as Spider-Man. The Iron Spider suit already exists in the MCU. It could be a harbinger of things to come. If Spider-Man does lose his powers, the Marvel Cinematic Universe can afford to forget him forever.

 7. MCU stops mentioning him in their movies

The Marvel movie universe has more than enough characters to make a small army now. With or without Spider-Man, we believe it is enough for the audience to still be glued to the screens. Scenes like Bruce Banner mentioning Spider-Man or Spidey fighting the Falcon and the Winter Soldier do not need to happen anymore no matter how epic they were to watch. The closest superhero to Spider-Man was our very own Iron Man aka Tony Stark. After his unfortunate death in the events of Avengers: Endgame, the other superheroes who are new to the game like Black Panther may never need the help of Spider-Man. They will just conveniently forget that he ever existed and call it a day.

 8. Three Spider-Man team up for the last time

Spider-Man

This would be a dream come true for Spider-Man fans. While not necessarily a way out for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, it would serve as a proper farewell to the Spider-Man character. Tobey Maguire from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, Andrew Garfield from The Amazing Spider-Man franchise and Tom Holland of the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be the next big triumvirate for one last rodeo. Spider-men Unite!!

 9. Stays in New York

Maybe with the coming of so many threats and dangers to humankind, Spider-Man realizes that there is a need for a neighborhood superhero that protects the little guy. That is what Tony Stark envisioned for Spider-Man when he gave Peter his first Spider-Man suit. Spider-Man could stay back in the city and help the locals by stopping everyday muggings and robberies while the rest of the heroes take the fight to the final frontier of outer space.

 10. Enter the Sinister Six

from the MCU

Spider-Man: Far From Home ends with Mysterio managing to reveal to the world that Spider-Man’s real identity is Peter Parker. The fact that the secretive double life of Peter Parker is out would invite a lot of trouble for the teenager. Spider-Man has made a lot of enemies over the years and some of them will band together to exact revenge on the one that helped the authorities capture them. Adrian Toomes aka the Vulture is already within the MCU and so is the Scorpion. We have a vague feeling that even Mysterio just faked his death and he is still lurking in the shadows, waiting to come out. With a few more additions, they could form the Sinister Six – a team of supervillains who would keep Spidey too engaged for him to help the Avengers in any way in the future.

Spider-Man could be removed from the MCU

The Last Solo Marvel movie to be released under the Disney banner is Spider-Man: Far From Home. The movie is currently in theatres. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Peter Parker’s relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury shows up in his hotel room to recruit him for a mission. The world is in danger as four massive elemental creatures — each representing Earth, air, water and fire — emerge from a hole torn in the universe. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury and fellow superhero Mysterio stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent.
