The Falcon And The Winter Soldier – Sebastian Stan Teases Captain America’s Return
There’s quite a lot that we could expect from the first-ever Disney+ MCU series – The Falcon & The Winter Soldier. It’s gonna be a buddy comedy and will finally explore the characters of Sam & Bucky in the way they need to be explored. Sebastian Stan has been talking about the series quite a lot and we know that it already begun production today. Just like Spider-Man: Far From Home marked a remembrance for Iron Man, this series will leave a remembrance for Captain America. But what’s crazy is that we might actually see old man Captain America’s return.
Sebastian Stan talked about the final scene of Captain America & Bucky together and he called it “very emotional.” At Fandemic Tour Houston, here’s what Stan had to say:
“Because it was one of those things where — and that’s why I think the movie is emotional, because you do feel like you’ve been a part of this now for 10 years, in one way, shape or form. You were some place in your life when you saw that movie. We’re getting older, these characters are getting older with you, so there’s all of this stuff that kind of comes to that scene. So it’s no longer just a scene, it has all these other things in it. So I think that comes from years and years of it.”
Because these are comic movies that we’re talking about, a character can certainly return even after his death. So, Stan added that we might not have said goodbye to Steve just yet:
“You never really know if ‘goodbye’ in the MCU is goodbye. It never really feels like it. It takes time to kind of [process]. But it’s strange. I mean, we’ll see. It will never be… Captain America will never be the same without Chris Evans, it just won’t. I mean, that’s just the truth. It doesn’t mean that Captain America is over, it just means that particular situation will never be the same.”
Spider-Man: Far From Home was proof that the world thinks Captain America died during the Endgame battle. We don’t know whether Old Man Steve is still alive or not. But given that The Falcon And The Winter Soldier will be the show that will let us say good bye to Steve, Chris Evans might return as old man cap. Or he might get a funeral just like Peggy got in Civil War. Who knows. What we know is that this series will surprise us big time!
One major surprise that Stan talked about was his new Vibranium arm that he got from Wakanda. He revealed that there’s a couple new things that the arm could do which haven’t been shown yet. Obviously, Infinity War and Endgame didn’t really give the White Wolf/Winter Soldier a lot of screen time. All that will happen on the show. Stan said:
“The one from Wakanda has a couple more features that we haven’t explored yet. So I think I like that one, but I miss the old star. I do. There was something about that. I don’t know, maybe I’ll have to get it back.”
While describing the show, Stan said that it is going to be a total blast of action & comedy. We’re gonna love what the show has to offer.
“It’s going to be so cool and kind of crazy. All I can say is it’s just new and different from what you’ve seen so far. I mean, it will be totally in line with everything that has happened and what we’ve seen and so on, but these characters are getting such additional mileage in terms of learning about who they are now, what they feel, what they’re thinking, and there’s a lot of action, comedy, you know there’s going to be comedy. I feel like you’re going to be happy. I think you’re going to be very happy. And there’s some crazy stuff, like stuff you don’t see coming from anywhere.”
Let’s see what happens. The Falcon And The Winter Soldier will arrive in fall 2020 on Disney+.
