Spider-Man: Far From Home Has Almost Become the Highest Grossing Spider-Man Movie

Spider-Man: Far From Home:

Sony executives must be dancing with their pants off because they’ve finally brought us a Spider-Man movie that’s going to hit $1 Billion, and will actually go way beyond that. So far, they’ve put out 8 Spider-Man films and it is the latest one that has finally shown some exponential growth. Spider-Man 3 was the highest grosser, but it was expected to do even better. The Amazing Spider-Man franchise showed limited profits and was a critical failure & that’s what led Spider-Man to enter Marvel.

Sony has to be thankful of Marvel studios and the MCU because that’s what brought back the love for Spider-Man. Being connected with the MCU has only generated more interest in Spider-Man and Sony would never want to take the character away from this shared Universe. So far, Spider-Man: Far From Home has managed to make $847 Million. It has just gone through its second weekend and has managed to make a huge impact on the Box Office.

Venom made $855 Million, Spider-Man: Homecoming made $880 Million and Spider-Man 3 made $890 Million. By the next weekend, Spider-Man: Far From Home will have beaten all three of these films. It may not go past the $Billion mark by then as The Lion King is also opening in the theatres this Friday, but it will surely become the biggest Spider-Man film of all time.

As far as the domestic Box Office is concerned, Far From Home has made $274 Million so far, and brought in $45.3 Million this recent weekend. It was a 51% drop from the numbers of the previous weekend, but that’s obviously because many people already saw the film due to its Tuesday release. By the end of the previous weekend, Spider-Man: Far From Home had brought in $185 Million, and over the last whole week it has made $89 Million more. So the success rate is huge even at the domestic Box Office. The movie is already a massive hit internationally having grossed $572 Million!

Spider-Man: Far From Home MCU Sony

Spider-Man: Far From Home has been a complete surprise package in so many ways. While Mysterio was always going to be what intrigued people the most, the post-credits scenes of the film gave people the biggest jaw drops ever since Thanos’ snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

Spider-Man: Far From Home spoilers follow.

Spider-Man: Far From Doctor Strange 2

The movie used up certain Spider-Man villains in a pretty cool way. Even though they were ultimately fake being the results of Mysterio’s illusions, we still liked how Marvel brought in the concept of Sandman, Hydro-Man & Molten Man. While Hydro-Man and Molten Man were new additions on screen, Sand Man was the one who was brought back after Spider-Man 3. But he wasn’t specifically called Sand Man as the makers wanted the character to be a possibility for the future. So, the illusion we’ve been referring to as Sand Man is actually the “Earth Elemental.”

Here’s what visual effects supervisor Janek Sirrs had to say:

“As originally scripted, the opening scene that introduces Mysterio didn’t actually include the Earth Elemental at all. A subsequent version swung in completely the opposite direction, turning it into a full-blown battle sequence with the creature, before finally settling on seeing just enough of it to establish the threat, and the need for a superhero such as Mysterio to take charge.”

Let’s hope that an accurate Sand Man does make a cinematic return. Here’s the official Synopsis of Spider-Man: Far From Home:

“Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!”
