The action genre is seemingly making a huge comeback this decade. Terminator is back in the hands of James Cameron. John Wick 3 I coming to town this year. There are talks of a sixth Die Hard movie starring Bruce Willis. And then Sylvester Stallone just dropped a nuclear bomb into that atomic puddle. Rambo 5 is a go and has already started pre-production. Sylvester Stallone has just shared his on-set pictures as Rambo – the guy whose name is synonymous with the action genre in Hollywood. You think Hollywood, the picture of Sylvester Stallone as Rambo, bare-chested with a red bandanna and holding a machine gun, will surely come to your mind. Welcome to Rambo 5 fellas!! The story will revolve around John Rambo going to Mexico to rescue the kidnapped daughter of one of his old friends. He will take on the powerful Mexican cartels up south, giving them the taste of their own medicine in fire, blood, and bone. Stallone has appeared in four Rambo movies up until now: First Blood, First Blood Part II, Rambo III, and Rambo, each releasing in 1982, 1985, 1988 and 2008 respectively. The last Rambo movie was set in the jungles of south-east Asia, with the Vietnam War Veteran aiding a group of mercenaries in rescuing a volunteer missionary from being killed by Violent Government forces.

The end of the 2008 movie saw Rambo moving back to his Arizona based and family owned Horse Ranch. Rambo was about to hang the holster for good this time but as it turns out, his past is not ready to leave him. This time, the ex-special forces veteran will see partaking in a fight much closer to his own neighborhood. Expect a lot of bodies and way more blood spatters than you could ever imagine. Rambo is coming and he is bringing his unquenchable and insatiable wrath along with him. Who is going to win this time?

The official title of the fifth installment to the enormously successful action series Rambo had been officially revealed a while ago. Rambo 5’s official title is “Rambo: Last Blood”. Rambo: Last Blood will hit the theatres in less than five months now and the fans are already biting their nails after hearing the title of the new Rambo movie. The Rambo movie franchise began with the first Rambo movie titled – Rambo: First Blood.

The fifth movie is titled Rambo: Last Blood. Does this mean the end of the Rambo franchise? Or does it mean something else? Is there any chance that Sylvester Stallone will depart the series with someone else taking his place as the titular character? Can he even be replaced? Rambo: First Blood, the first installment to the super-hit movie franchise, was released all the way back on December 18, 1982. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Vietnam veteran and drifter John J. Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) wanders into a small Washington town in search of an old friend, but is met with intolerance and brutality by the local sheriff, Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy). When Teasle and his deputies restrain and shave Rambo, he flashes back to his time as a prisoner of war and unleashes his fury on the officers. He narrowly escapes the manhunt, but it will take his former commander (Richard Crenna) to save the hunters from the hunted.

The last Rambo movie to be released was on 23 January 2008. It was titled “Rambo”. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Having long-since abandoned his life as a lethal soldier, John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) lives a solitary life near the Thai border. Two weeks after guiding a missionary (Julie Benz) and her comrades into Burma, he gets an urgent call for help. The missionaries have not returned and although he is reluctant to embrace violence again, Rambo sets out to rescue the captives from the Burmese army.
