Avengers: Endgame –
There aren’t many franchises with as big a fanbase as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, there are some countries which are really crazy about this franchise and its characters. Yes, we are talking about the second most populated country in the world, India. There are several fan pages of Marvel characters and movies on the internet which are run by Indian admins and even Marvel Studios is very much aware of this fanbase. That is the reason Marvel launched an official Avengers: Endgame anthem in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
The anthem has been created by one of India’s biggest music directors, A.R. Rahman. Endgame would also release in 4 different languages (English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil) in India. But, above all, it has been reported by a ticket retailer site BookMyShow that, so far, more than 1 million Endgame tickets have been sold.
It is really remarkable to witness this kind of passion for a superhero movie. BookMyShow revealed that in India, tickets are selling at a speed of 18 tickets per second. Also, one of the country’s leading newspapers, Hindustan Times reported that Endgame is going to break many box-office records in India as well, owing to the movie releasing in different languages. And, a country with a population of more than 1 billion will surely play a big part in the grossing success of this film.
Head of Studio Entertainment for Disney in India, Bikram Duggal talked about the passion of people in India for MCU movies and stated,
“Avengers: Endgame is not just a movie, it’s an epic culmination of a decade-long journey. Which the fans have taken with us across 22 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The phenomenal interest shown by audiences across the country is a testament of how this is one of the most anticipated movies for the fans. And we can’t wait for them to watch it.”
Well, only time is going to tell us how much money Marvel is going to earn from India as Avengers: Endgame releases this Friday in theaters worldwide.
