Avengers: Endgame Trailer 2 has been confirmed by Kevin Feige. It is going to be a full-fledged story trailer and not a teaser or a TV Spot. So far the marketing of Avengers: Endgame has been in line with the likes of Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War. The pattern of trailers for the May/April release movies has been in this way:
- Trailer 1: November Last Week to December 1st
- Super Bowl TV Spot: February
- Trailer 2: March 3rd Week – 4th Week
- Final Marketing Campaign with Teasers, Clips, TV Spot, Featurettes & Trailers: March last week – April
So you would imagine that the next Avengers: Endgame trailer has to arrive in March last week or probably April. There was a recent update upon the release date of the 2nd official trailer by Trailer-Track.com and The Cosmic Wonder which stated that the trailer is set to arrive sometime in between March 11 to March 21.
The reason behind this was that Marvel wanted Captain Marvel to play in the theatres at least for a while so it doesn’t get overshadowed by the trailer. But the main psyche behind this was that it has to come out before March 21 as that is when Empire Magazine is going to give us an exclusive coverage upon Avengers: Endgame. There are going to be new posters, set photos, interviews, and other stuff.
Well, a new update from the two pages mentioned above suggests that there has been a shift in the release dates. Now the new trailer is set to arrive sometime between March 25 to April 4. According to their sources, it will come after the Empire Exclusive.
Not only that, but it will also come after an Exclusive Reveal from Entertainment Weekly, as they are also set to release issues just the next day after Empire, i.e. March 22. So we will not be getting any trailer in the third week of March, but we will certainly get two exclusives from two big Magazines which will reveal a whole lot of info upon the film.
This trailer update falls in line with the rumor that the trailer should land on April 2 because that is when the Presales tickets will start online. But this is just a rumor so take it as a grain of salt. The second trailer of Avengers: Infinity War came out on March 16 and Captain America: Civil War came out on March 10. So, it would be a really ballsy move by Marvel to push the Endgame trailer 2 to as further as April.
But it is understandable as Marvel wants us to keep us in dark for as long as possible. Don’t even expect the trailer to have any footage from the second half of the movie. It will dive deeper into the story and show us a few scenes, but all that will be from the first half of the film as Kevin Feige himself has confirmed that. Another reason why this trailer is coming out so late is that these big magazines that are mentioned above haven’t made their big reveal yet. For Infinity War and Civil War, they did that before the trailers.
Let’s see when Marvel drops the trailer. Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame will open on April 26, and it’ll presumably star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jeremy Renner Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Danai Gurira, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Wong, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Paul Rudd, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tessa Thompson, Evangeline Lilly, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Cate Blanchett, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldblum, Katherine Langford, Stellan Skarsgard and Brie Larson.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
