Captain Marvel is out and it has created a massive record by being the 6th biggest worldwide opening bringing in $456 Million within the first three days. It was another good entry in the MCU, and the mid-credits scene really amplified the impact that the ending had upon us. It is obvious that one of the Post Credits sequences had to be related to Avengers: Endgame, and it was.
Spoiler Alert. If you’ve not seen Captain Marvel and don’t want to know about the post-credits scene, then you can read the article after you watch the film.
In the Post Credits scene, Captain Marvel shows up to the Avengers facility following Nick Fury’s Distress Signal. So she ends up meeting Black Widow, Captain America, Rhodey and Banner. What we have to notice here is that Captain America still has his beard. And since we have seen the Avengers trailer and TV Spot, we know that he is going to shave it off. That gives away the fact that Captain Marvel was present at the time of the trailers, and she will be getting plenty of screen time since the scene actually takes place at the beginning of Avengers: Endgame.
So Marvel has pulled off their editing tricks with the trailers again. Here’s everywhere Captain Marvel could have been cut out from in the trailer and the Big Game Spot:
Natasha’s Story Explanation
In the first trailer, we saw Natasha explaining someone what exactly Thanos accomplished. Now we know that Steve was there with her so it makes no sense for her to tell him how Thanos wiped out half the Universe. That left us with only 2 possibilities. The first one is that she is talking to Scott Lang in this scene as he is supposed to arrive later to the Avengers: Endgame Facility, and since he was stuck in the Quantum Realm, he’d need a recap.
It would totally make sense if she tells this to Scott Lang. But let’s talk about the second possibility, i.e. Carol Danvers. Even though Carol was far away in the Galaxy, she must have noticed people getting disintegrating. And when she arrives at the Avengers facility, the way the moment was set up, it is entirely plausible that Nat and Carol are having a girl to girl talk here and she explains the recent loss of the Avengers against Thanos to Carol.
The Scott Lang Moment
The moment Scott Lang arrives at the Avengers facility, we see a really stunned Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff. At this very moment, Steve doesn’t have his beard, hence it is plausible that Carol could also be present in the room. All this stands as a recent Endgame footage description leak confirmed that the likes of Thor, Steve, Rhodey, Nat, Banner, Nebula, and Carol have been in one room, talking about what they should do next.
Outside of the Avengers Compound
In the Endgame Super Bowl TV Spot, we saw Steve, Rhodey, Nat and Banner walk outside the Avengers facility looking at something mysterious arriving from above. Now what everyone noticed here was an odd gap which makes it look as if a character was missing. We’ve guessed that this character could either be Scott Lang, Thor, or even Rocket for that matter.
But if it is Tony and Nebula who are arriving from the sky, then Rocket is will supposedly be with them since he is the one who is probably going to help Pepper in their Rescue. We have an assumption that Thor goes on yet another mission so it is possible that he wasn’t present at this moment. That leaves us with the possibility of Scott and Carol. Since it has been proved that Carol is going to be present right from the beginning, she has a high chance to be in this scene unless she has gone on her own separate mission as well. As far as Scott is concerned, if he arrived at the Avengers: Endgame facility before this scene then he would be in it, otherwise not.
The Ant-Man and Rhodey Suit Up
With the newly leaked footage description, we got to know about the fact that the team devises a plan, and i.e. to take the fight to Thanos. Nebula told everyone that Thanos is at a place called “The Garden,” and so everyone decides to go and attack him head-on. Even the first Endgame trailer teased a plan at the end when we see Natasha talking to Steve, and he says something along the lines of “This has to work because I don’t know what I’m gonna do if it doesn’t.”
Ant-Man and War Machine suit up for battle but there’s a big gap in between them. With Captain Marvel being there with them, it is possible that she could be standing between Ant-Man and War Machine and she also gets her helmet on. But don’t put your money on this one.
The final Money Shot
The last shot of the big game TV Spot showed us all the Avengers at the compound walking in a line. Captain America was leading the charge, and following him were Thor, Black Widow, Rocket, Ant-Man, War Machine, and Bruce. Again, between Ant-Man and War Machine, there is a big gap which for sure would fit Carol Danvers in. While we know that Captain Marvel would also definitely be here and since the Avengers look ready with a plan, it is also easy to assume that Tony and Nebula have also returned, and they could be present in this shot as well. Tony could be ahead of Cap and Nebula could be behind Bruce.
Let’s see whether this stands in the next trailer. We should get some scenes involving Captain Marvel in Trailer 2.
