New Fan Theory Claims That Star-Lord Actually Saved The Avengers In Infinity War

Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and the rest were trying their level best to keep Thanos at bay. On Titan, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and the Guardians almost had the winning hand. If not for Star-Lord, the Avengers might have won the fight. After Star-Lord lost his cool and screwed up the battle plan cooked up by the good guys just when it was about to bear fruit, the fans made Peter Quill the object of their collective hatred. But this fan theory states that Star-Lord freaking out actually helped the Avengers. If not for him, the Avengers could have suffered a worse fate.

Iron Man and the rest had the mad Titan pinned down and Mantis had the Titan’s mind within her mental hold. The plan was fool proof until Star-Lord swooped in and destroyed everything. But do you think that was the worst thing to happen? This theory will change how you see things.

Fans have always been polarized when it comes to Peter Quill’s actions. Some say it was the stupidest thing to do. If only Quill could have kept his emotions his check, then the good guys might not be grieving right now. The other side claims that what Quill did was the humane thing to do.

When you lose a loved one, you lash out. Quill is also half human and to err is what we are all supposed to be. But this fan theory takes the latter side’s arguments to another level. It claims that Quill’s actions that woke Thanos from his mental slumber were what will help the Avengers win the fight in the end.

Posted on Reddit, this theory claims that the fight was one-sided from the very beginning. The Thanos was holding back, or at least that is what the theory states. Why Thanos was not using his full power is something we might have to figure out on our own. Maybe the loss of his ‘daughter’ Gamora was weighing down on him or maybe he was conserving his energy for the final fight.

To be honest, with more than half of the Infinity Stones at his disposal, Thanos always had the upper hand. But when Team iron man almost had the gauntlet, he might have had to stop pulling his punches and use his full power. With no self-imposed inhibitions, Thanos would have easily won the fight.

Avengers: Endgame Doctor Strange

This is exactly why Doctor Strange did not portal Star Lord’s ass out of the fight since he already knew the future and knew what was exactly going to happen. This theory also provides an answer to this huge plot hole.

Avengers: Endgame Doctor Strange

So what this theory says, in a nutshell, is that – the Gauntlet was actually stopping Thanos from using his full power. No matter how absurd that sounds, once you think about it, it does make sense.

The movie has already premiered in the theatres and the fans are still divided as to what to make out of the situation. There can always be multiple answers and even more, theories to provide us with crazy and bizarre solutions.

Let us hope a new theory comes to town that is actually more believable than this. But until then, this is the best we have got. If you still are not convinced enough. You have to wait till the month of April this year when Avengers Endgame releases and gives us the answers we have been waiting for since so long.

Star-Lord Actually Saved The Avengers In Infinity War

The last Avengers movie to be released under the MCU banner was Avengers: Infinity War. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
