Here’s A Reason To Cheer If You Are A Spider-Man Fan

The upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming will be Marvel Cinematic Universe’s big release after Doctor Strange. This will be the first Spider-Man movie under MCU’s banner and the first movie to be co-produced by two major studios (Marvel and Sony). Both studios seem to be satisfied with their product, as there has already been talks of a sequel even before the film’s release.  coghjzvvmaash8u

The new Spider-Man will not follow the patterns of the previous films, having a multi-cultural cast who are all younger ( Tom Holland is still a teenager as are many cast-members), the movie will have a fresher take on the Spider-Man lore. But we should not be expecting an origin story, which would be quite unexpected, given that the first two franchises had made audiences more than familiar with how Spider- Man came to be. Instead, a prequel comic will be released that will explore the hero’s background without it being shown in the movie.

There is an Amazon listing already in place called Spider-Man: Homecoming prelude which will be released on June 20, 2017. The official synopsis reads:

“You adored his introduction in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, you can’t wait for his Hollywood Homecoming – now really get to know the Spider-Man of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this prelude to his big-screen solo adventure! By day, young Peter Parker attends high school and lives with his Aunt May. By night, he fights crime with wall-crawling powers and web-swinging tech – and he’s destined to one day have an amazing, spectacular, sensational reputation as his neighborhood’s friendly hero! Join Marvel’s Spider-Man as he makes his first tentative web-swings towards a blockbuster future!”

What is not said is where the comic will take place. Spider-Man had already appeared in Captain America: Civil War, having acquired his powers and a fancy suit courtesy of Tony Stark. The Prelude may offer an origin story that will be more in line to the movie’s story line instead of the comic book source material.
