Avengers: Endgame – Here’s The Most Convincing Time Loop Theory

Doctor Strange played a major role in Infinity War using the Time Stone to see 14 Million+ future alternatives and find out the one alternative where the Avengers actually won. But there may be some deep hidden complexities with what he did in the film. There’s still a bit left for us to decipher, and we’d only know of the real thing once Avengers: Endgame hits the theatres.

Avengers: Endgame

There have been hundreds of theories surrounding the events of Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. This is how the fans get to contribute and share their opinions for something as big as these two films. Among the theories has been conclusive evidence of a time loop/multiple time loops being a part of Infinity War. Well, we don’t know the significance of them just yet, but there’s surely going to be some relevance to the grand scheme, the Endgame that Doctor Strange has set up using the Time Stone.

Avengers: Endgame

Although as said by Baron Mordo, the bill will surely come due. The Time Stone can be your greatest ally if you know how to use it. But for someone who doesn’t know how to use the stone, the stone could become the greatest threat. Coming from Reddit user 93652877410random, a very convincing theory suggests that Thanos accidentally created a time loop when repairing mind stone, heroes break it and go for the head to win.

Avengers: Endgame

Here’s what he wrote:

“When Thanos reformed mind stone, maybe he accidentally created a time loop. Evidence: (1) there may be a green time loop design around his wrist when he’s fixing mind stone in Infinity War; (2) there is a specific green time loop design around Dr. Strange’s wrist in Doctor Strange when he uses time loop; (3) accidental time loops are possible – when Dr. Strange first uses time stone in Doctor Strange, there is great concern about accidentally creating a time loop ( the warning was after the spell); and (4) Thanos has no training in mystic arts in the MCU.

Avengers: Endgame

Dr. Strange had to give Thanos time stone in infinity way so it’s not the last stone Thanos gets. Thus Thanos has to (mis) use it pre-snap and accidentally create loop. Additionally, “should have aimed for head” comment phrased to allow for possibility that Thanos was aware of time loop when giving comment.”

Avengers: Endgame

Well, the theory does make sense till now, as this time fickle could be a thing. It would turn out to be the biggest thriller for the fans if something like this turns out to be true. From here on out, the Redditor proposes how Thanos could be defeated, and he even sets up the opening of Spider-Man: Far From Home in his own way. Here’s how the theory concludes:

Avengers: Endgame

“Speculation as to how this plays out in Endgame: Someone kills Thanos but the time loop will “reset” to time just before the snap. Like the villain in Doctor Strange, the hero who kills Thanos will become aware of loop, so will Thanos. But no big deal for Thanos, who will simply snap again. Next time, the hero delays killing Thanos, eventually finds the team and learns that Ant Man can travel through time to help (citation: post credit scene in infinity war). In the winning iteration, heroes break loop before snap and tell Thor to aim for head. Some hero dies breaking the loop. Thor hits head. Stones dispersed, vision repaired, mind stone fragments kept in Wakanda for repair. Spider-Man needs a vacation.”

Avengers: Endgame

Well, now we have to admit that the theory is partially convincing till the time Thanos created an accidental time loop. Post that it’s okay-ish, but it would certainly not end up happening as the Redditor proposes. Although there could be a possibility that Thanos didn’t create a time loop at all and he just reversed time to fix the Mind Stone. We’d find out about that when Avengers: Endgame hits the theatres on April 26.
