Avengers 4 is going to be the big finale event that Marvel has been building up to for the last 11 years. Everything that has happened in the MCU has led to this mega-crossover event where the Avengers who survived the big snap will assemble for one last battle against the Mad Titan, and it seems that they will finally be able to take him down after multiple divided attempts upon stopping him. The Avengers left alive will reunite, Tony and Steve will finally see eye to eye, Hawkeye will return, the Hulk will be back, Ant-Man will be there, Thor will be in his prime and most importantly, the strongest character from Marvel, Captain Marvel is going to join the team and take down Thanos!
With the leaked promo art of all the Avengers that are going to team up against Thanos for one final time, there was yet another promo art that showed the return of Thanos’ battle armor which was not featured a lot in Avengers: Infinity War as he removed it having acquired 2 Infinity Stones. But now it seems that it will return and he will also use another weapon which can be seen above.
Thanos faced all the Avengers in Infinity War and that left him severely damaged. While Iron Man only managed to put a scratch upon him, it was Thor who made a blow that almost killed him off for good, but his strike allowed Thanos some time to sneak in a Snap that killed half the population of the entire universe.
The Snap itself was extremely strong, and even the Infinity Gauntlet which was designed for the sole purpose of being able to hold the Infinity Stones was completely destroyed. Since the Gauntlet was destroyed, it is a no brainer that the effect of the snap would have impacted Thanos as well. So the strength that Thanos used to have has now worn down, which is why he needs his armor once again as that would provide him some assistance against the Avengers. According to art designs released by Avengers: Infinity War artist, a theory arose which suggested that Thanos went back to Titan in the past.
So, he might have even fixed his Gauntlet using Time Travel and that is why we can see a perfectly usable Gauntlet in the image given above. There was another Concept art that made its way to the internet, and this one shows The Avengers along with Thanos. The one different thing that can be seen in this art is that Cap actually has his helmet back. Have a look:
While we know that Cap is going to don his old suit from the first Avengers as a result of Time Travel, but this is the first art that teases the fact that he will also be wearing his helmet again. We last saw him wearing it in Civil War, and he did not don it in Infinity War since he was sporting his new bearded look.
Captain America is gonna have an extended and more significant role in Avengers 4 and that would be the compensation for his small and reduced role in Avengers: Infinity War. The upcoming finale is gonna be huge for Captain America fans in particular as he will be at his best, and he is likely to make the big sacrifice towards the end of the film and finally get to rest in peace after that. Hopefully, Avengers 4 satisfies Captain America fans in a major way as it will be the last time we see Steve Rogers in the MCU.
His mantle may be taken up by Sam Wilson or Bucky Barnes, according to the direction Marvel may want to take for Phase 4 and beyond. We will only find out about the final fate of Captain America and Thanos once Avengers 4 opens in theatres on May 3, 2019. Here’s the official Synopsis:
