Both have been a part of the MCU. Both are major villains that came from space and have their own ulterior motive to do what they must. Ronan the Accuser is a Kree heretic and a fanatic of the highest order. Ronan is known for many things, but the most popular of his traits is his general sense of ruthlessness when it comes to taking out his foes. The only guy who can actually match Ronan when it comes to being brutally efficient in dispatching his enemies is none other than the purple megalomaniac and mass murderer extraordinaire aka Thanos. This guy needs no introduction.
Thanos first appeared in the post-credits scene for 2012’s The Avengers of the MCU universe. Ronan has made his only appearance in GOTG Vol. 1 as the lead villain of the movie. If both these guys decide to duke it out within the MCU, who will win?? We will soon find out. Presenting – Ronan Vs Thanos: Can the Accuser trump the Mad Titan?
Before we start, we must put on a note. Thanos does not possess the Infinity Gauntlet as if he did, this fight would have been over within a snap (pun intended).
Ronan the Accuser
Born on the planet of Hela, a stronghold of the Kree Empire, Ronan was one of the youngest to join the Accuser Corps, a Kree version of armed military guards that are religious zealots that hold all sorts of power within the Kree galactic administration. Ronan quickly rose through the ranks and became the empire’s supreme accuser. Ronan is a highly proficient warrior and a Kree with superhuman physical attributes.
He has a brilliant mind and is well versed in biology, genetics, physics and all forms of Kree science. Roan possesses a Cosmi-Rod, a weapon that has the power to manipulate gravity and energy, create portals and simulates suspended animation as well as the dreaded “time-motion displacement fields”.
Who doesn’t know this guy?? Thanos, born on the planet Titan, is a formidable foe. The Avengers only faced him once and he beat the shit out of them. He does not even need the Gauntlet to take down a superhero. He has a genius level mind, one of the best in the whole universe, and the strength and speed to back his stature up. Thanos’ greatest asset is his mind and his grasp of science and various other technological fields. As a hybrid version of both the Eternals and the Deviants, he is considered to be extraordinarily strong even when considered in Eternal standards.
Thanos vs. Ronan – Who will win and why?!?!
The fight between Ronan and Thanos does not even need a reason anymore. It has already been established in the MCU that Ronan openly revolted against the wishes of the Mad Titan when he decided to take on the Xandarian Forces using the Power Stone. What if Thanos decided to intervene before the Dark Aster could reach Xandar and the Nova Corps? Enter Thanos vs. Ronan.
Who will win this match?
It is Thanos of course!!! No matter how badly you want Ronan to win this one and make the Mad Titan bite the dust for what he did in Infinity War, it is just not happening. The Mad Titan is not this infamous because of his madness but because of the fact that he is crazy powerful. With his superior energy manipulation and physical attribute skills, he will reign supreme at the end.
Ronan will try to even the match out using his vast experience and knowledge about war tactics but Thanos is just too strong to defeat even by a veteran as seasoned as Ronan. Thanos wins this one without breaking a sweat.
Thanos last appeared in the MCU in Avengers: Infinity War. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
