Avengers: Infinity War – Where Did Rocket Keep Thor’s Spare Eye?

After Thor loses his eye at the end of Thor: Ragnarok, he is forced to wear an eye-patch. The one-eyed God of Thunder is then bested by the Mad Titan, after which he is found by the Guardians aboard their Milano. The guy is floating in space and needs immediate medical attention. Thor survives and makes friends with the Guardians. He even persuades Rocket and Groot to follow him to Nidavellir, where Thor intends to find his new weapon for killing Thanos.

While on their way, Rocket gives Thor a bionic eye for his hollow eye socket. But did you know where Rocket kept that eye before he gave to Thor? The Creative Team at Marvel may have an idea. Presenting – Infinity War – Where did Rocket Raccoon keep Thor’s Spare Eye?

The Infinity War Creative Team may have an answer to that question but the thing is – the answer is still open to debate and discussions. The Directors of Infinity War, Joe, and Anthony Russo as well as Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, the writers of the Infinity War storyline, claim that they know where Rocket kept the eye before giving it to Thor.

And they also say Thor should have cleaned it. As a matter of fact, once you realize where it was, even you would say that Thor should have absolutely cleaned that thing before jamming it into his skull.

“What do you think?” McFeely asked.

“It was up his ear remember?” Joe suggested.

“Oh, it was up his ear, right,” McFeely agreed. But co-writer Markus had other ideas.

“No, that’s definitely an ass eye,” Markus insisted and everyone on the panel agreed.

“Yeah,” said Russo It was soon followed by “oh boy” from McFeely.

Rocket has had a knack for being incredibly gnarly as well as extremely sensitive at the same time. He probably kept that eye in a place where he shouldn’t have if he was going to give it to someone at the end. The human ear is filled with germs and all kinds of crap and Rocket is a freaking raccoon outlaw who most probably never ever takes a bath.

The guy has a penchant for collecting robotic and cybernetic prosthetics from around the galaxy. He even once asked Bucky to give him his bionic arm in Infinity War. But the eye story literally is skin-crawling judging from the fact that Thor has that thing in his eye socket.

Thor was soon distracted by their arrival at Nidavellir, home to the Asgardian Dwarf-Smiths and the birthplace of the Mjolnir hammer. So he never got to realize where the eye initially was. Rocket never told him so it is still everyone’s guess as to the legitimacy of this fact.

The Russo Brothers have themselves claimed to the fact that this answer is not a definite one but it is highly probable that it is the way it went down.  Just like the way Tony stark had the burner phone from Captain America which was explained in a Civil War deleted scene, this was something that the Directors thought that they never need to explain. It is just how Rocket is and we should all be aware of his dirty tricks by now.

Avengers: Infinity War has already been released. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
