As we all know, the director of ‘Gurdians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Guardins Of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, James Gunn has been fired from MCU and Disney at the San Diego Comic-Con. Gunn is one of the most successful filmmakers that MCU ever had, he made the series of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ what it is today.
His firing shocked the entertainment world as no one expected it. Disney cut down all the ties with the writer-director because he made some offensive jokes 10 years ago. Obviously, this is huge and it has disappointed a lot of fans including the actors from the movie.
Dave Bautista who plays Drax in the series blamed the cybernazi’s for the firing of Gunn. With the series of tweets, he wrote.

Bautista referred to Jack Posobiec and Michael Cernovich with ‘cybernazi’, who wrote about Gunn’s previous tweets. Bautista is a close friend of Gunn and we can see exactly why he is upset. He also said that Posobiec is a self-described “political operative” and Cernovich wrote a book Gorilla Mindset, which says that women should submit to alpha males.
Dave Bautista has been very vocal when it comes to his opinion, he always makes his point whether anyone likes or not. He is one of the most entertaining and loved characters in the franchise, he was the best part in the second film and even in Infinity War, he managed to impress the audience in a very limited screen time.
In 2012, when Disney hired Gunn for directing the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movies, he formally apologized for everything he said and claimed to be a different man. Bautista also said that Gunn was a changed man.
Gunn already started to work on the third installment of the franchise which was dated to released in 2020 but now with his firing, we don’t know about that. We don’t know who will direct the movie now and how a different director’s vision will work with Gunn’s.
We saw ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ earlier this year, where all the characters from the Guardians except Rocket Racoon dies. The third installment of the ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ was supposed to be the biggest movie of the franchise and James Gunn was working on it for a long time and he promised that the movie will be a Blockbuster.
He has made quite a name for himself in Hollywood as of late. ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ gave a different dimension to his acting career and he often says that the series is close to his heart.
This will definitely hurt the series, James Gunn is a great filmmaker, and sad to see someone like him go like that. Now, obviously this is not the end of his career but he was enjoying his part as the director of ‘Guardians Of the Galaxy’. This also states that you have to make a certain image if you are working with Disney.
