Here’s How Captain Marvel May Be Directly Linked To Iron Man 2 And The Avengers

Iron Man began the journey of MCU and Marvel really established its mark as the biggest franchise of Hollywood with The Avengers. Now the MCU will be moving into its fourth Phase with the new faces of Black Panther and Captain Marvel taking the reins from Iron Man and Captain America. The 20th movie of the MCU has already released in the theatres within the US while the release awaits in many parts of the world and it will be followed by the strongest Superhero Marvel has ever put out next year.

As we all know by now that Captain Marvel is going to be a prequel to almost all movies of the MCU except for Captain America: The First Avenger. Captain Marvel is going to be set in the 90s featuring Nick Fury in his younger days having both his eyes open. Along with Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law is going to be a part of the movie and he is going to play the character of Mar-Vell, who would probably be the Captain of the Kree Army. It was recently revealed that Ronan, Agent Coulson, and Korath are also returning for the movie, and it will be based on the infamous Kree-Skrull wars storyline which will see the Skrulls as the main villains of the film.

Here’s what Kevin Feige had to say about the character:

“All of the Marvel characters have flaws to them, all of them have a deep humanity to them. With Captain Marvel, she is as powerful a character as we’ve ever put in a movie. Her powers are off the charts, and when she’s introduced, she will be by far the strongest character we’ve ever had. It’s important, then, to counterbalance that with someone who feels real. She needs to have a humanity to tap into, and Brie can do that.”

While there still is some time left until Captain Marvel makes her debut on the big screen, she has been teased in the post-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War. Till now that is the only Easter Egg of Captain Marvel in the MCU, but there actually may be more which we have not yet figured out. Well, some new information upon the movie has come into light which suggests a connection to previous movies of the MCU, Iron Man 2 and The Avengers in particular.

As the days progress, the cast of Captain Marvel keeps on increasing over IMDb, and currently one of the Cast members of the movie, Mel Powell is playing “Pegasus Guard Ficke” according to IMDb. The point to be noted here is that P.E.G.A.S.U.S. is a scientific base located in the Adirondack Mountains and we have already seen it in previously in MCU as it appeared in Iron Man 2. In the movie, we saw that Tony had retrieved the technology which Howard Stark was working on, and it was actually called ‘Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S’.

It later showed up in The Avengers and as the official Guidebooks of Marvel have explained P.E.G.A.S.U.S. was a joint venture between S.H.I.E.L.D. and NASA in the MCU. Now it will show up again in the MCU in the prequel story of Captain Marvel where it could be tremendously useful as it is dedicated to the study of alternative energy and since Captain Marvel is known to absorb energy and goes Binary if she absorbs enough of it, she would surely be in the records of Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.

Captain Marvel Linked Iron Man 2 And The Avengers

So Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S could be in this movie to study the powers of Captain Marvel as it has done similar things in the comics when it came to heroes like Quasar, Nova and many more. So, it is really amazing to see how well does Marvel connect the dots that they themselves set in the previous movies. Everything in Marvel is pre-planned and there is no other Studio that links dots and forms stories which completely blow our minds away.
