Avengers 4 – Here’s The Reason Why Captain America Needs to be Sent Back to the 40s

Avengers 4 is going to be the biggest movie Marvel has ever put out. Considering the insane hype that surrounds this movie, it will surely go even past Avengers: Infinity War. The critics and the fans are surely going to love this movie even more than they did the previous one. As the writers have claimed, Avengers 4 will completely blow our minds away with the likes of Captain America, Thor and Iron Man taking the final stand against Thanos.

Avengers 4 is going to be a major Time Travel event that will take the Avengers back and forth in time. We may actually get a plot that is responsible for creating alternate timelines. As the Avengers will go back in time, they are going to be altering history throughout, changing the future. This will result in us getting major flashbacks, flashforwards and even flash-sideways.

Also, the contracts of the major MCU characters are going to come to an end after Avengers 4, so we could expect some of the original heroes to actually bite the dust. The most likely suspect to meet his death is none other than Captain America. Even though we know that Robert Downey Jr. is going to retire from the MCU, Marvel will surely retire Tony Stark instead of killing him off. They will leave RDJ open for cameos in the future. So that leaves Steve Rogers to die at the end of Avengers 4.

But instead of killing him off, Marvel could actually consider retiring him in a way that will not require future sequels. They could actually consider sending Steve back in time to the 40s. In the Civil War story arc where Captain America was assassinated by Crossbones, it turned out that Cap has actually been transported between time and finds himself back at D-Day, where he fights alongside Bucky once more.

This is how they very smartly used a character that the normal audiences though had actually died, so Marvel could surely take a page out of that, and use the time travel to their advantage. Moreover, we saw a vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, that teased a happy ending for Captain America. The vision showed to him by Scarlet Witch involved Captain America’s past, Peggy Carter as he went back to finish his dance with Peggy.

Now that we know that what Scarlet Witch showed was not just any dream, but an actual future as Thor’s vision did turn out to be just that, with Heimdall predicting Hela’s arrival and Asgard’s destruction. So, this could very well mean that Cap will indeed revisit his past.

We all know that right from the 40s, Cap has led nothing but a hard life with a lot of struggle. First, his best friend fell off a train. He crashlanded in the ice and slept for more than 70 years, waking up into a totally new era. Waking up from that long sleep, he fought the army of aliens and then found out that all his hard work and service to his country in the 40s has been for nothing since Hydra grew within SHIELD. Then the bigger shock came when he found out that his best friend Bucky has been turned into a trained assassin.

To get Bucky back on track, Cap fought with his own friends, had to face division of the Avengers, has been hunted by the Government ever since, and now he has lost a lot of his friends due to the big snap.

He is going to take on Thanos yet again in Avengers 4, so instead of having him sacrifice himself, why not give him an actual happy ending because he sure does deserve it. Also, it would leave Captain America open to follow yet another story which may actually be set in the past. Who knows! He could actually reunite with his friends from the 40s, the howling commandoes as the bit with them in Captain America: The First Avenger was the best part of the movie.

So we would love to have an option for another Captain America movie. Avengers 4 will come out on May 3, 2019, and here’s the official Synopsis:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
