The makers of Terminator franchise are on for the sixth installment of the iconic series. As we know, Tim Miller is directing the film while the screenplay is written by Billy Ray, David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Josh Friedman. The last movie of the franchise came out last year and it didn’t do as good as the previous films.
Now, this one looks bigger and better as it is the direct sequel to ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’, which came out in 1991 and became a huge hit. The makers are busy with the shooting of the film. Recently a video came out from the set of the film in which we can see a helicopter is carried out by a crane. It’s hard to say who is in the helicopter, but speculations are that Linda Hamilton might be in the passenger seat, we can see another character from the back of the aircraft, but it’s not quite clear.
The title of the movie has not been announced as of yet. When the movie was announced, the big speculation was that who is going to direct the movie because the franchise had its problems with the directors and then it was clear that ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller will be directing the science fiction.
James Cameron was very keen to hire Miller to direct the film, he even said that Miller is the best choice for this film. Now, Tim does have a good resume in directing action films, we saw that in ‘Deadpool’, and it makes sense why Cameron will hire him for this project. Another thing which might have been considered about Tim is that he was a visual artist before becoming a filmmaker and Terminator is a visual film so who better than Miller.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton will be reprising the lead characters in the movie. While actors like Natalia Reyes Diego Bonita, Gabrial Luna, Mackenzie Davis and Jude Collie will also be seen in the movie.
Mackenzie Davis was last seen in ‘Blade Runner 2049’, where she played the role of Mariette and impressed everyone with her performance, it would be interesting to see her in this film. She has proved that she is a compelling actress, without a doubt.
Now, as we know, ‘Terminator: Genisys’ was the first film of a new standalone trilogy. ‘Terminator 6’ will be the second one. The shooting of the movie started back in June and it will release on 22nd November 2019. Earlier the film was scheduled to release in July 2019 but things didn’t work out due to dates issues.
Well, the movie is expected to be huge. Over the years ‘Terminator’ has kind of lost its flavor but this film can bring back that charm of the franchise. Last year the 3D version of ‘Terminator 2: Judgement day’ was released and it did good, that film needed the 3D version as it made the franchise what it is today.
James Cameron is also working on the sequels of 2009 epic science fiction ‘Avatar’. The sequels were on making for a long time, he has been working on this project for a decade now. ‘Avatar’ came in 2009 and went on to earn around 2.78 billion USD and became the highest grossing movie of all time.
Cameron announced the four upcoming movies of ‘Avatar’ franchise, the first one will release on 18th December 2020 and the budget of the film is around 250 million USD. The third movie will release on 17th December 2021 with the budget of 250 million USD. The combine budget of all four movies is around 1 billion USD. Now, this clearly means that he is putting everything in this project, it took him a decade to develop a script for this series.
If ‘Avatar 2’ and ‘Avatar 3’ doesn’t do we at the Box Office then we will not be getting the fourth and fifth installment of the franchise.
Cameron has given some of the greatest film ever made in Hollywood, apart from ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’ and ‘Avatar’, camern has directed ‘Titanic’, ‘Aliens’, ‘The Abyss’, ‘The Lies’ and many more.
