Dave Bautista Reveals How Long Can Drax Stay Invisible In Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War is currently playing in the theatres, and we still haven’t gotten over the fact that how thrilling it actually was. The movie- Avengers: Infinity War was full of fan-pleasing moments as we got to see the beginning of the culmination of everything Marvel has built in the last 18 movies. This was the first time that so many A-List Hollywood actors appeared in a single movie at once. Managing to pull off a remarkable story with so many characters is almost next to impossible, and the Russos have done a bang on job with that.

One of the most important parts of the movie was certainly the Guardians of the Galaxy. While the movie was a little darker than usual and it was based upon long-lasting stakes a little bit of the typical MCU humor that we are used to was needed. Apart from Tony, that was done mostly by the Guardians of the Galaxy. Some fans may feel that their knack of not taking things seriously, especially for the likes of Peter Quill, is what caused the horrific ending of the movie, but it is them who actually made the plot of the movie possible.

Each of the Guardian was equally important for the plot. Quill was important for screwing the Avengers showing his human side, Gamora was probably the most important Guardian as she was the link to the Soul Stone, Nebula also acted as a minor link to the Soul Stone, Rocket was there to support Thor and also give him a new eye, Groot was important as he is the one who saved Thor from dying giving a handle to the Stormbreaker, Mantis was important as she is the one who actually gave the heroes a chance to remove the Gauntlet, and Drax was important for really bringing in the humour into the movie.

This team muscle did not get to do much that impacted the plot, but the humor that Drax added was a big highlight in the movie. 2 of the scenes that involved Drax were really amazing when it comes to wit and quips in the movie. One of the funniest scenes in the movie which Dave Bautista actually improvised was the discussion between the Avengers and the Guardians about Gamora.

Quill asked Tony – “Where is Gamora?” to which Tony replied – “I’ll do you one better, who is Gamora?” to which Drax replied – “Why is Gamora?” Along with this scene, the Drax moment that really stuck to the internet and social media was the talk about his Invisibility.

While Gamora was asking Quill to kill her if Thanos gets her, Drax was standing right beside them eavesdropping on the whole thing and enjoying his snack. As the two turned, they found Drax to be standing right in front of them not making a sound. When Quill asked him that how long he was really standing there, he replied 1 hour!

Drax then told him one of his abilities which was that he can make his body so still, and his moves so slow that he eventually becomes invisible to the naked eye. He was obviously proved wrong but now he has been added to the list of the infamous invisible people currently working in Hollywood (which are John Cena, Brad Pitt and now Dave Bautista)

Recently, Dave Bautista talked to GameSpot where he was asked about the fact that how long can Drax really stay Invisible? Dave replied that this little bit actually came from James Gunn and here’s what he answered:

“There’s no telling how long Drax can stay invisible. But I have to say, James Gunn wrote that whole bit. It came from his twisted, sick imagination. So I have to say Drax could stay invisible as long as James Gunn wanted him to stay invisible.”

Bautista talked last year about the fact that how the people making the movie allowed the Guardians division to do their own thing and how James Gunn helped around with the Guardians in Infinity War. He continued:

“I knew Drax, I was comfortable with Drax and who he was and I didn’t want to take him in a weird direction that I didn’t think was good for the character. But it wasn’t that at all. They kind of just let us do our thing. They gave us free reign to be the Guardians that we know and love and also gave us the luxury of having James Gunn write for us a little bit.

But I was just amazed at how supportive they were at letting us just be our characters. They were like, ‘Just go for it.’ We’re really big on improving stuff, the Guardians are, and we started doing it business as usual and they just really go behind it….That’s something I honestly just wasn’t expecting, for someone to be so giving and just let us be ourselves.”
