Here’s Mind-Blowing Connection Between Age of Ultron and Infinity War You Definitely Have Missed

Infinity War is the greatest comic-book event in the history of Marvel comics. It is the culmination of everything that happened in MCU from 2008 to 2018 spanning 18 movies all leading up to this giant spectacle where we witnessed the entire Avengers assemble pitted against their most terrifying adversary Mad Titan Thanos.

Avengers Infinity War

The movie was the ultimate thriller and hooked us from beginning to end. The climax was a huge cliffhanger which has set the stage for Avengers 4 that will mark the end of MCU Phase 4. But this collection of 19 movies in the MCU’s roster is inter-connected and tells one big story of how Fury succeeded in his ‘Avengers Initiative’ and created a fighting force that will be there for mankind when the threats are too overwhelming and it needed saving. But the deadly twist is Earth’s mightiest heroes could’nt save half of mankind this time. Oopsss….

There were linkages, threads, easter-eggs and references of past movies reflected in the Infinity War storyline, some of them were spotted by fans and some they missed. An important detail has been discovered by a fan on Reddit regarding how Thanos arrived to Earth at the first place. Let’s recall as to what happened in Infinity War:

Infinity War Infinity gauntlet

Thanos already had Power Stone at the time he attacked Thor’s refugee ship and later killed Loki with it to acquire Space stone. He set the Collector’s facility on fire to acquire Reality stone. He sacrificed his own beloved daughter Gamora for Soul stone. He traded Time stone with Dr. Strange in exchange for sparing Stark’s life.

Finally, he created a wormhole through Space stone and landed in Wakanda for Mind stone. But Scarlett Witch managed to destroy it before he could have it. He just rolled back the time, killed Vision and extracted Mind stone off his forehead. He then snapped his fingers and fulfilled his goal in life.

So this is where the connection with Age of Ultron lies. The Infinity Stones have existed in the MCU but it will be Mind stone at the center of it all that will bring about destruction is something revealed by Thor in Age of Ultron. He explained his vision and said: “I’ve had a vision, a whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life and at its center, is that,” he points at the Mind Stone.

When Thanos steps out of the wormhole, a whirlpool can be seen; Mind stone is at the center of the gauntlet and there goes all hope of life. We must say Russos, the writers and entire creative team of Marvel is top notch and they have planned everything to the last detail. Another connection is the post-credits of Avengers: Age of Ultron where Thanos says “Fine, I’ll do it myself”. In Infinity War, when Thanos brutalized Hulk in the beginning, he is so traumatized that he never came out again, so Bruce Banner borrowed Thanos’ line and fought Black Order in Hulkbuster suit.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently playing in theatres. It has become the highest grossing superhero movie of all times with $2.1 Billion at the Box office globally. It is directed by Russo Brothers and produced by Marvel President Kevin Feige with a bunch of executive producers including Stan Lee. The official movie synopsis is as follows:

The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment”.
