Avengers: Infinity War – Spider-Man & Black Panther Are Permanently Dead According To Directors

Avengers: Infinity War shocked the entire world with the ending it portrayed on the big screen. People did expect that Thanos would somehow escape towards the end so that he could be back for Avengers 4, but no one really expected that he would actually win and take out half the population of the entire Universe. This little moment left the entire world stunned as emotional, as they had to look at their favorite heroes getting disintegrated right in front of their eyes.

We did expect some characters to die, but this was way too many. There were expectations that one of the big three will surely meet their demise, as there were serious doubts upon the future of Captain America, Thor and Iron Man. Iron Man came really close to his death and that was a moment where the hearts of most of the fans would have stopped beating, but he survived, only to see his prodigy turn into dust.

The deaths of Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange were really surprising as all three of those are solo franchise holders and have confirmed sequels already under works. Spider-Man, in particular, has a movie coming out just next year, and Black Panther had a major success with his solo movie just recently, so unless the studios have completely lost their minds, they will surely bring back these characters in Avengers 4.

People are assuming that these dead characters will surely return in Avengers 4 and the effects of the Finger Snap will somehow be reversed which will result in these characters coming back to life. Well, while we may see these characters come back, they may not be the similar versions of what we have seen of them till now. The Directors of the movie have claimed in a recent interview that even if certain characters have sequels like Spider-Man and Black Panther, their deaths are Permanent!

What?!! I mean how? We do know that Avengers 4 is going to be a full on time travel event, so is Time Travel going to play a role in bringing them back? Or the infamously teased Multiverse theory will come into play and bring back different versions of these characters which are actually their Doppelgangers. Honestly, we don’t really want the doppelgangers to come into play because they won’t be the same versions that people have connected to, and having a different version may not work as well as the old ones, which the people already love and share a bond with, even though the same actors are going to play those roles.

We don’t really know how things are going to take place considering this statement. But Marvel has been claiming that the deaths in Infinity War will stay permanent even before the movie came out. They have also been saying that Avengers 4 will set up a Marvel Cinematic Universe that we have never seen before. Things are going to change permanently and we have to deal with it. Saying all this, Marvel has been asking us to be prepared for what’s next.

We should really expect the unexpected and hope that Marvel does satisfy everyone with the mind-boggling thriller they have planned to release next year. Here’s what the Directors had to say about Avengers 4 and MCU’s future movies:

“Anthony Russo – Here’s the thing, I think it’s important to remember anything is possible in the MCU. Just because there’s a sequel on the books doesn’t mean… people become accustomed to time moving linearly in the MCU. That doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. There’s a lot of very inventive ways of where the story can go from here.

Joe Russo – There’s four years between Guardians 2 and Infinity War. That’s a long time, and a lot of Guardians stories to tell. Again, as Anthony said, don’t expect everything to move forward in a linear fashion in the Marvel universe.”

Well, that is a bold claim to make, and considering this, we could see movies occurring as prequels to Infinity War. Avengers 4 is going to come out on May 3, and that is when we will get to find out how the future of MCU will work! Here’s the official synopsis:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
