Infinity War: The THANOS Infinity Stone Theory Has Now Been Proven In The MCU

Avengers: Infinity War is out, and it was the ultimate thriller of a superhero movie. We have all waited to see the epic showdown between Thanos on one side and Avengers assemble on the other. It was totally worth the wait to see these two forces clash with one another as stakes are just too high this time.

The Mad Titan first appeared in the post-credits of ‘The Avengers’ and then he came again in Avengers: Age of Ultron saying “Let me do it myself”. Thanos showed up on the battlefield for the first time in Infinity War and made a huge impact on the MCU’s future. We got to see the Superheroes struggle against the Mad Titan, and he was way too overwhelming for them.

This was a heist movie where Thanos was after the Infinity Stones and he moved from one place to another with his Black Order to steal these cosmic singularities which would allow him to control fundamental aspects of existence and become the most powerful cosmic entity in the universe. Here’s what Russos said:

“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration”.

The goal of his life was to wipe out half the population of the entire Universe to create balance among the lives of the ones who are alive. Once he assembled the gauntlet with all six Infinity stones namely Power, Space, Reality, Soul, Time and Soul; he snapped his fingers and exterminated half the life in the entire galaxy.

avengers infinity war soul stone

We knew about 5 of these Infinity Stones as they have been introduced in the MCU within the last 18 movies. The Soul stone was believed to be in the Kingdom of Wakanda under the protection of Black Panther but the theory proved to be untrue.

There were numerous theories going around the internet regarding the reveal of the Soul Stone. The reveal that came in the movie was actually theorized among one of many theories about the Soul Stone.

The most popular Soul Stone theory was the Thanos theory, which suggested that all the Infinity Stones are located in 6 things or people or even planets having the initials of every letter of the word THANOS (T- Tesseract, H- ??, A- Aether, N- Necklace, O- Orb, S- Sceptor).

So an object or a person having a name starting with ‘H’ could be the key to finding the Soul Stone. This is why Heimdall was believed to be the top contender for the keeper of the Soul Stone.

But the writers of the movie actually rendered this theory to be very vague and random. Instead, in the movie, it was revealed that the Soul Stone was at Vormir. This was predicted by no one but the way it could be retrieved was another theory going around the net.

As it turned out, Thanos had previously sent Gamora on a mission to find the Soul Stone and she did, but she lied to Thanos about it. Here, to save Nebula, she had to reveal the location to Thanos, and hence she took him there.

The trailers for Infinity War teased the relationship between Thanos and his favorite daughter. So, this gave rise to a particular theory suggesting the reason why the Soul Stone has not appeared till now, is because it requires a big sacrifice of the soul of a loved one, a soul for a soul.

This is what happened in the movie as Thanos sacrificed his loved daughter Gamora, the only person he loved in this universe to get the Soul Stone. This scene was really important to build the character of Thanos.

But many fans still like the THANOS theory of the Infinity Stones as it does seem legit and really satisfying because of how closely Thanos and the Infinity Stones are related. Keeping this in mind, one adamant Marvel fan has actually proved the THANOS theory to exist even with the reveal of the Soul Stone’s real location.

As it was revealed that the Soul Stone is located at Vormir. Vormir is actually one of the many planets that are a part of the Helgentar system. This has been pointed out by a Marvel fan on Instagram. The credit for this reveal goes to the Instagram handle of ‘accurate.mcu’. Here’s  what he wrote along with the image above:

“THE SIX INFINITY STONES AND WHERE THEY CAME FROM • I finally got to finish this. I know the H is kind of a stretch but the soul stone was in fact found there. It also isn’t a spoiler cause there are lots of planets in the Helgentar system and the stone can basically be anywhere on any of the planets in that system.
