20 Incredible Infinity War Easter Eggs You May Have Completely Missed

Infinity War is like a dream come true for many fans of the comic book genre. While the movie put up a lot of effort to ensure the comic book sources are respected, there were several blinks and you will miss it Easter eggs we would like you to know. I think you all know by now that this article will contain MAJOR spoilers for Infinity War so there’s no point putting up a disclaimer sign. Presenting 20 Incredible Infinity War Easter eggs you may have completely missed……

The Thanos Snap

 Infinity War Easter Eggs

The Snap happened, people. And it did make the Mad Titan smile. In the comic books, Thanos wanted to erase half of all life in the universe to impress Lady Death. In the movie, Thanos was motivated to do it to bring ‘balance’ to the universe.

Thor’s new Hammer is a nod to the Ultimate Mjolnir

While the hammer does share the name of Beta Ray Bill’s hammer – the Stormbreaker, its half blade, half hammer design is a clear nod the Ultmiates Universe Mjolnir.

Cap’s Nomad Suit

When Captain America lost faith in the American Way, he donned the Nomad Suit – a suit that no longer featured the stars and stripes. After Civil War, Cap’s suit no longer has the stars and stripes and looks eerily similar.

Spiderman webbing Thanos’ face

In the comics, Spiderman fights Thanos by directly shooting his webbings onto Thanos’ face. The movie also shows a similar scene when Spiderman makes his presence known to the mad Titan.

Strange and his Crimson Bands of Cyttorak

Strange has used these bands to subdue the toughest of foes in the comics. These bands also appear in Infinity War when Strange uses the spell to subdue Thanos.

Strange and his Images of Ikonn

The Images of Ikonn spell is used by Strange to create countless copies of him. In the comics, Thanos created a dragon to defeat Strange then while the movie showed Thanos just using the brute force of the Gauntlet to end it.

The Spider-Sense makes its official debut

The Russo brothers already claimed that Spiderman’s Spider-Sense will only activate after Peter faces a life-threatening situation. Peter has his first Spider Sense on the bus and next on Titan, while he was fading away.

Alien Reference

In the MCU, Spiderman is a big movie buff and uses fiction to find ways to defeat his opponents. While fighting Ebony Maw, Iron Man uses Spidey’s Alien reference to blow a hole in the Q-Ship and let the vacuum of space kill Maw.

Tony Stark’s son – Morgan Stark

In the comics, Morgan is actually Tony’s younger cousin. The movie showed Tony talking about a dream he had about their son. This is as close as we get. Morgan is a villain in the comic books. Let’s hope the MCU version is different.

Nebula’s comic book callback

In the comics, when Thanos fought Nebula over the Gauntlet, Thanos turned her into a literal walking death. Her body was burned, mangled and suspended for everyone to see, with her spirit refusing to pass to the afterlife. The movie showed us something similar.

Groot’s game

The Arcade Defender is a 1981 Video Game that allowed the player to defend the planet from hordes of alien enemies as they come to Earth to abduct humans and cause general havoc. Sounds pretty similar to Infinity War!!

The Cauldron of the Cosmos

The Cauldron of the Cosmos has made its appearance in the comic books long before. It allows one to look into the entire history of the world. Tony, though, used it as a stretching post for his legs.

The Red Skull is a different actor this time

Hugo Weaving played the Red Skull in The first Avenger. But his hate for the amount of time it took for the makeup made him refuse to reprise his role in Infinity War. That is why the role was played by Ross Marquand (AARON from The Walking Dead).

Eternals reference

The Eternals are the race Thanos belongs to. On Vormir, the Red Skull addressed Thanos as the Son of A’lars aka Mentor of Titan. Marvel is even rumored to be working on an Eternals standalone movie.

This is as close as we get to Lady Death

The costume of Red Skull, who guided them to the Soul Stone on Vormir looked very similar to Lady Death’s. While the latter is not seen in Infinity War, the former is as close as we get to her.

The Outrider army

Thanos has an alien army of savage creatures called Outriders who are willing to die in his name. In the comics, the Outriders act as scouts as well, and gather intelligence regarding the Infinity Stones.

The Soul World

After half of all life is wiped out, Thanos temporarily finds himself on an endless orange plane with the child version of Gamora standing before him. This is soul world, the pocket universe that exists within the Soul Gem.

Thanos finds peace

In the comics, Thanos retreats to a secluded farmland after accomplishing his mission of universal genocide. He finds peace in farming (no kidding). While the MCU will not show the ‘farmer Thanos’, the look of peace on his face is uncanny.

Nick Fury and Maria Hill

In the Post Credits scene, we see the world in chaos as half of all life withers away into nothing. Nick Fury and Maria Hill look in awe as their bodies wither away too. Thanos didn’t just kill the heroes. His actions affected the whole universe.

Captain Marvel reference

Right before Fury passes away, he manages to press the button on his pager. The pager falls to the ground as the insignia of Captain Marvel is seen before the screen fades to black. It’s time for the Binary Lady to make her official debut into the MCU.

Avengers Infinity War is currently running in theaters. It is directed by Russo brothers who have earlier directed two Captain America movies – Winter Soldier and Civil War. Produced by Kevin Feige & Co including Stan Lee, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo. The script is written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Here is the official synopsis, read it below:
