Presenting Solo: A Star Wars Story Poster and  Complete Character Guide…..

Han Solo

Alden Ehrenreich plays the young and rebellious Han Solo in the movie. Born on the streets of Corellia, Han Solo is an orphan wanting to make a name for him. Han Solo will be joining the Empire and later leaving it since Imperial Service doesn’t suit him. He would then venture into the Galactic Criminal Underworld. In that journey, he will be making a lifelong companion in the form of Chewie, getting aboard the Millennium Falcon and venture into an adventure of a lifetime. The Young Solo will be subtly different from the older Harrison Ford version we all know and love, says Kathleen Kennedy.

Chewbacca

The Wookie who is already 190 years old when Solo hits the theaters is played by none other than Joonas Suotamo. The Wookie is best known for serving as Han’s second in command and by his side at all times. Chewie owes Han a Wookie life debt and as a result is forever bound to him as his friend. The movie will feature a scene in the spice mines of Kessel. Wookies were used by the Empire as slaves to work in the Kessel Spice Mines. Maybe Han, who is an Imperial Soldier than, saw Chewie about to be executed, intervened and saved his life.

Lando Calrissian

While Alden’s Solo was initially panned by everyone, fans actually liked the casting choice of Donald Glover for Lando Calrissian, the future Baron administrator of the Cloud City of Bespin in the original Trilogy. Glover has also poured in extra effort to live up to the fans’ expectations. But the question is can Han and Lando be friends? Han did win the Millennium Falcon from Lando in a game of Sabbac after all. Maybe it is best to term them as ‘frenemies’.

Qi’Ra

Emilia Clarke’s Qi’Ra is as mysterious as a character could get. She has an absolutely miniscule backstory and nothing for the fans to establish her role on. The tie-in novel Most Wanted offers some info about Qi’Ra. The official description reads:

“Han and Qi’ra don’t have a lot in common other than not having a lot. They’re street kids on the industrial planet Corellia, doing whatever it takes to get by, dreaming of something more. They each jump at a chance to prove themselves in the perilous world of Corellia’s criminal underbelly, only to discover they are on the same mission for the same unscrupulous boss. When the job goes disastrously wrong, Han and Qi’ra are on the run – from pirates, a droid crime syndicate, the Empire, and their boss – and will have to learn to trust each other if they are going to survive.”

Tobias Beckett

Tobias Beckett is played by the legendary Woody Harrelson. Tobias is a veteran criminal who wants to land a big score. He enlists Han Solo’s help to do it. But while doing so, he and his team come into contact with other rogue elements of the Star Wars universe. Tobias is considered a sort of father figure to Han Solo. His character was modeled after Long John Silver from R.L Stevenson’s Treasure Island.

Val

Thandie Newton’s Val is a long time member of Beckett’s crew and is clearly not in favor of including Han Solo into the team. She is also a veteran criminal like Beckett and the director had claimed that the dynamic between Val and Solo will take an interesting turn. Val will become a mother figure to Solo at the end of the movie.

L3-37

Phoebe Waller-Bridge plays the female droid in the movie because let’s face it – it ain’t Star Wars without a droid. L3-37 is unique in the sense that she is a female droid and has the ability to self-modify. She has scavenged most of her parts from other droids and added a different aesthetic to herself. Considering the dynamic she shares with Lando Calrissian, expects top-notch humor every time she enters the screen.

Dryden Vos

The part was initially portrayed by Michael K. Williams. Before Lord and Miller were ousted from the sets, that part was mostly CGI. Then Paul Bettany was roped in to play the Intergalactic Gangster. Vos will be a crime lord who will direct Beckett and his crew to do what is necessary for the big score.

Enfys NestSolo: A Star Wars Story character

Up Until now, almost nothing is known about Enfys Nest, the supposed villain of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Stunt-actor Harley Durst is reportedly playing the part while others say it’s a female inside the suit. Enfys Nest is the leader of a gang called Cloud Riders that terrorize the skies using their custom built swoop bikes. In the old Expanded Universe, their reign of terror was so extreme that the locals had to contact the Rebellion for help. In the movie, Enfys will be locking heads with Han Solo and co. But why will he be doing that? Your guess is as good as ours.
