The Real Identity of The Dead Robin In Batman vs Superman Finally Revealed!!!

DCEU is not just a cinematic universe but a promise for millions of DC fans across the world. The truth is DC comics sell off the shelf like hot cakes and there should be no reason why comic-book movies based on DC characters don’t find a massive audience. But clearly, something has gone horribly wrong on the big screen.

Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill, directed by Zack Snyder was a good start and a decent box-office success. The movie had plot holes and inconsistencies but it showed great potential for the future. Well, nobody would have anticipated that future of DCEU was so bleak.

Except for Wonder Woman, which was a smashing box office success, the three biggest DCEU movies namely Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Justice League failed to set the cash registers ringing. The gap between DCEU and MCU should have been bridged by now, instead, it has further widened to the point that DC is not within the 10-mile radius. Well post-Infinity War, DC will be out of the picture.

Henry Cavill aka Superman has acknowledged that mistakes have been made and that DC needs the course correction, but his concern seem too little, too late (I hope I am wrong). Here is what he said:

“There was a style they were going for, an attempt to be different and look at things from a slightly different perspective, which hasn’t necessarily worked.”

“Yes, BvS has made money but it has not been a critical success; it hasn’t given everyone that sensation which superheroes should give the viewer. “I feel like now the right mistakes have been made and they haven’t been pandered to, and we can start telling the stories in the way they need to be told. It is even better to come back from a mistake or stylistic error into the correct vein because it will make it seem that much stronger. Wonder Woman was the first step in the right direction.”

Who is to be blamed for this? Certainly, not Snyder.

It has become a frequent phenomenon nowadays. Zack Snyder is taking to social media platforms to answer popular fan theories and replying to trendy fan queries. His answers have so far been spot-on and have added to the DCEU’s already enormous depth. From revealing why the spear was used instead of another weapon to the mystery behind three crosses; from Bruce’s dream sequence to why the Wayne manor was in a dilapidated state in BvS, his explanations are sharp and precise.

They tell us about the immense possibilities and lost opportunities for DCEU. Imagine what DCEU could have been if his vision was allowed to be translated into reality!

The DCEU is riddled with Snyder’s masterpieces of an Easter egg every now and then. His greatest work in the DC Extended Universe is arguably Batman vs Superman, a movie so hated and loved at the same time that he could be called Hollywood’s Donald J. Trump.

And he has just answered a massive unanswered question that left all us fans hanging in mid-air the minute we saw it in the movie. A Popular Fan Theory has finally been answered. The real identity of the Dead Robin in BVS has been finally revealed!

Prepare to have your minds blown. Zack Snyder has been taking to his favorite social media site Vero, a lot these days. He has already answered a ton of fan questions in the recent months. He has given answers to popular questions like – ‘Why Superman is evil in the Knightmare sequence’, ‘Why Batman used a spear to kill Superman in the movie’ and several other fun Easter eggs and comic themed imagery from the comic books that could relate to those of the movie.

Batman vs Superman

The latest in his flurry of answers include a teenage superhero all too familiar to the DC Comics fans. His cryptic reply makes us wonder whether everything we had thought about BVS and its mind-bending conclusions are actually true or just hallucinations created by Snyder’s genius.

As it turns out, the Dead Robin figure that Batman showcased in his Bat Cave as a reminder of his failures is not actually who we thought it would be. That is actually someone we thought it could never be. This could NOT get any better. Brace yourselves.

It is not Jason Todd!!! Snyder has already made it sure that he had conjured up amazing and gripping backstories for each of the lead characters. The one for Batman was exceptionally dark and gritty from the very beginning. Batman is an old and seasoned veteran vigilante that has seen his fair share of crazy as the Dark Knight of Gotham City.

In BVS, it was shown that the Joker might have killed Robin in the DCEU. He even had the Robin Costume with Joker’s heinous message on it on display in the Bat Cave. Everyone thought that this was a clear shout out to Batman: Death in the Family, where Joker mercilessly beat Jason Todd aka Robin to Death with a crowbar.

When a fan asked about this scene, everyone was in confusion until Snyder came to the rescue. This is what Snyder said:

In BVS, there was actually a grave for another guy who donned the Robin costume other than Jason Todd. Fans also asked whether the Picture and the Tombstone were legitimate. No one answered their call and the egg was lost to the internet. It was only a few days ago that the light was finally shone as to what the identity of the Dead Robin might be. Fans considered the Dead Robin suit belonged to Jason Todd since Snyder is crazy about comic book accuracy and he fit perfectly. But as it turns out, Snyder has managed to surprise us yet again. If it is not Jason Todd, it leaves us with only one option considering the Tombstone Easter egg in Dawn of Justice.

It’s Dick Grayson. Nightwing is the Dead Robin in BVS!!!

Batman vs. Superman is available in DVD and Blu-Ray. The official film synopsis reads:

Batman vs Superman
Batman vs Superman

“It’s been nearly two years since Superman’s (Henry Cavill) colossal battle with Zod (Michael Shannon) devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel”.

The two DC Superheroes – Batman and Superman were part of the DC comic-book ensemble ‘Justice League’. At the end of BvS, we saw Superman laying still on the ground dead after he was done fighting Doomsday. In Justice League, when Batman was putting together an elite team he realized that there is no way in hell they can win this fight without Superman. So he used the last remaining mother box to resurrect him. When Superman came back from the dead, he wasn’t himself at first but then Lois Lane helped restore his soul.

Thousands of years ago, the Amazonians, the Atlanteans and men formed an alliance to defeat military general of Darkseid aka Steppenwolf. There were three mother boxes with each of them that are one of the most powerful objects having Apokoliptian origins. The monster returned to collect them to restore dark order and once again everyone must unite to save humanity. Well, the JL took down Steppenwolf by using his own army of para-demons against him.

Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions”.
