Thanos is the most powerful villain of the MCU, and Infinity War is going to cement that with the fans. The recent reports circulating on the web have even suggested that The Incredible Hulk is also afraid of Thanos. Well, we are going to see the two face off in the upcoming movie, but they have encountered each other many times in the comics and even on TV. And every time that has happened, Thanos has shown the Green Goliath that who is the boss, and the same thing is going to happen on the big screen as well.
With Marvel’s relaunch, things have been pretty interesting as Marvel tries to re-tell the story of all the Marvel characters. Thanos’ own new comic shows Thanos, the conqueror of the entire Marvel Universe, is set up thousands of years in the future. A very heartbreaking and twisted development in this comic is that coming into the future and winning over all others, King Thanos has kept Hulk as his souvenir making him his new attack dog. This grim new story shows the Mad Titan as the ruler of the cosmos which does not have more than half a dozen people alive. In this development, Silver Surfer has become the new God of Thunder, and very surprisingly, the Punisher is the Ghost Rider now, and Bruce Banner aka the Hulk has been reduced to some horrifying conditions.
This is a story so strange that it is going to take a lot of time to process for the readers. So many strange and unimaginable things have happened that Hulk surviving for thousands of years going through all the horrific things and now becoming a dog on Thanos’ side will feel like something very normal. It has been hard for the readers to even process the fact that Hulk was broken to the point that he ate Captain America!
The readers have had a hard time accepting the fact that Frank Castle is the new Ghost Rider, and has even been riding his own solo comic. Being alone on a dead Earth for centuries now, he has now teamed up with the Mad Titan, the Ruler of the Cosmos and his younger self as well. One of the most absurd parts of the story is that he is the one who brought Steve Rogers to Thanos, and then the two fed him to Thanos’ new dog, Hulk.
Recently, Marvel Comics confirmed that Hulk is immortal, therefore he cannot be killed by even Thanos himself, but this has not stopped Thanos from putting him on the leash. At the beginning of the comic, the readers saw Hulk as an old and grey individual, sitting in his pit full of the bones of the food he gets, and Steve Rogers has also been added to this pile of bones as well. This story is totally absurd and heartbreaking. It is really sad to see what Thanos has done to the Marvel Universe, thousands of years in the future.
So, to prevent a future like this in the MCU, it is really important for the Avengers and all other heroes to band together and take down Thanos in the upcoming two movies because the universe cannot survive if this Mad Titan survives. So he will have to go down ultimately, no matter how many casualties have to be there, no matter how many of our favorite Superheroes die in Infinity War and Avengers 4.
Avengers: Infinity War will open on April 27, and here is the official synopsis of the movie:
