Avengers: Infinity War is coming closer and closer day by day. We have waited to see this movie come to life for years, and ever since it was announced, the fans have wanted to see Thanos and the Avengers assembled to take him on. They will face their most formidable and dangerous adversary who will not stop until he destroys half the humanity.
For the first time, we will see the Mad Titan himself along with his notoriously dangerous Black Order to wreak havoc and destruction upon the Earth and the only thing standing between them and total dominance are ‘The Avengers’ and later on Guardians of the Galaxy as well. Thanos is coming with his massive alien army to collect all the Infinity stones namely Space, Power, Mind, Time, Reality, and Soul.
Russo brothers described Infinity War as a heist movie as Thanos will spend all his force and energy in stealing six cosmic singularities which will make him almost invincible as he will gain control of the fundamental forces of existence. Here is what they said:
“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration”.
According to the two official trailers, he already has acquired two Infinity stones – Space stone aka Tesseract, Power stone aka Orb. Time stone is with Dr. Strange, Reality stone is under the protection of Collector and Mind stone is literally embedded on Vision’s forehead. Soul stone is still undiscovered and hidden somewhere.
It will be the greatest character ensemble ever seen on the big screen and it will interweave all the stories told in the last 10 years. It all began in 2008 when Iron Man was released and since then we have come a long way as we have already seen 18 Marvel movies now. MCU is the biggest brand not just in the comic book genre but even in Hollywood as it has already crossed $14 Billion in box office collections worldwide and the upcoming two Infinity War movies are expected to make $3 Billion.
The marketing of the movie has picked up the speed of a bullet train as every day new photos, promo arts, posters, TV Spots, Clips and trailers hit the net revealing new details about the movie. These new clips and trailers have given rise to 100s of theories about the movie, and since the events occurring here are really massive and gigantic, Marvel has kept things pretty tight by only teasing the events that are going to happen in the movie, and not necessarily revealing anything.
The most amazing thing about this movie is the insane roster of actors that is involved in the movie. In total, Feige and co have mentioned that there are going to be almost 76 characters of relevance involved in the movie, and out of those, almost 30-35 are Superheroes, but the ones who are confirmed to be there are just around 26, and it has been revealed by Scarlett Johansson that one particular scene involves like 32 Superheroes, so even after including Ant-Man and Hawkeye, we’re gonna have to figure out 6 other characters.
Marvel’s most powerful Superhero is going to make her way in her own solo movie next year, but recently the Russos, have accidentally or deliberately confirmed that Captain Marvel is going to be in Infinity War as well. They, along with Brie Larson have changed their profile pictures on twitter, and have added Captain Marvel in that display.

The Russos also talked to Entertainment Weekly earlier, and they straight off mentioned that Captain Marvel will be in Avengers: Infinity War along with other heroes. They first denied her being in the movie, but now Captain Marvel’s appearance is no secret anymore as Marvel may have revealed their biggest surprise. Here’s what Joe Russo had to say about this:
“We have some great female characters in this: Captain Marvel is in it, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch. We have Wakanda coming in and there’s a whole group of characters coming from the Wakandan universe, from the Black Panther universe — amazingly strong characters, strong-willed characters — and we have the Guardians. Two of the Guardians are daughters of Thanos, so there’s a really strong connection to the main villain of the story. I think you’ll see in the film that that they’re very pivotal to the storyline, and I think the arcs are fantastic. We’re really, really proud of being able to introduce Captain Marvel in this one.”
Also, as soon as the pre-ticket sales of the movie began, Fandango, the site that sells tickets also mentioned Brie Larson in cast credits, so she is totally in without a doubt. But still, it is not clear that will Captain Marvel be assembling with the rest of the Avengers against Thanos, or will she appear in one of the post-credits scenes of the movie.
She will get a proper introduction like Spidey and Black Panther got before their movies in Civil War, so it will be great for everyone if we do get a glimpse of her insane powers against Thanos in this movie itself. But incorporating her in the story may be a tough ask.
The official plot synopsis for the movie can be read below:
“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.
“Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment”.
“An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe”.
The cast is simply unbelievable as some of the A-list actors will working together under one roof including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Pratt (Starlord), Vin Diesel (Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Chris Evans (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Winter soldier), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Dave Bautista (Drax), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Benedict Wong (Wong), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Mariah Hill), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Josh Brolin (Thanos).

The screenplay has been written by two really talented fellas – Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
