Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Cameo In Venom Solo Movie Revealed

Sony was facing a crisis when the e-mail scandal took place revealing how grossly unprepared and unprofessional the entire operations and planning division was especially when it came to Sinister Six. But the crisis was turned into an opportunity when Sony decided to collaborate with Marvel for a new Spider-man franchise.

Sony realized that it was ill-equipped to revive Spiderverse, so it’s better to integrate the beloved web-slinger with the MCU and continue with solo Spiderman movies which push the Marvel narrative forward.

Tom Holland was cast as the new Peter Parker aka Spider-man and the title of the movie was Spider-man: Homecoming based on classic Homecoming storyline. It was a massive blockbuster as fans welcomed the entry of Spiderman into the MCU. But the problem was there are so many characters of Spider-man comics who can’t be brought into MCU, so what will Sony possibly do with all of them?

When Sony hinted at their plans for a possible Venom spinoff movie, everyone was bound to take it with a pinch of salt. Sony has a horrible track record of making several such promises to their fans, only to go back on their word later. The Sinister Six movie is one such glaring example. But as it turns out, the movie was happening. Casting choices have already been finalized and production will soon be underway.

Tom Hardy will feature as the titular anti-hero Venom. He is playing the role of Eddie Brock, a journalist who becomes a host of an alien body and inhabit powerful abilities of Venom which are all of Spiderman powers except Spider-sense and more. He is one of the most sought-after actors working in Hollywood. He is no stranger to comic book genre as he was Bane in Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

He is known to undergo extreme physical transformations for the role and Venom is no different as he will turn into an 8 foot 4 inches tall monster who is terrorizing the city. His trainers are in awe of him and said this about Tom Hardy:

“Most people, you give them the choice, they will always take the easy option. You want more? No, I’m OK.’ But not Tom. There’s always room for one more.”

Further, Michelle Williams will portray Anne Weying and an un-named villain (rumored to be Carnage) working for the evil Life Foundation will be the one to make life hell for Eddie Brock/ Venom in the movie.

Sony is trying to build a Venom-verse, which basically would be a Spider-Man Universe without Spider-Man himself. But for the last two months, it is being reported that Spider-Man will have some kind of presence in the movie. It was revealed that it is not actually Spider-Man, but Tom Holland as Peter Parker that will have a cameo in the film. Honestly, currently, no one knows what is going on as we don’t know whether Tom Holland will have a scene in the movie and even Sony probably does not know anything about this.

But it is believable as the movie is adapting “Lethal Protector” storyline which has a lot of involvement of Spider-man. Venomverse can’t use him as he is part of MCU, but a cameo at a critical moment is the right way to go. Here is what you need to know about the plot before you go see the movie:

“Before the story begins, Venom makes an agreement with Spider-Man that they will leave each other alone, on the condition that Venom commits no crimes. Venom then moves from New York City to San Francisco and takes up with a group of Californian mole people. Shortly thereafter the father of one of Venom’s victims seeks him out with a group of super-powered mercenaries to take revenge. Spider-Man, seeing misleading coverage of Venom on television, heads to San Francisco to confront him and instead winds up fighting along side Venom against five new offspring of the Venom Symbiote: Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony.”

According to the latest rumor as mentioned above, Jon Schnepp gave us some inside info during the coverage of his Venom Report. A full two days were slotted for shooting with Tom Holland for his guest appearance in the movie. While Peter Parker will appear, we are afraid Schnepp’s words clearly indicate he won’t be suiting up to become the Web-slinger anytime soon in Sony movies. This is what he said:

“Tom Holland was on set filming scenes on Venom for at least two days as Peter Parker. Okay, so I’m not saying Spider-Man is in the film. When I say Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is in the film, I’m saying Peter Parker is in the film.”

Well, now new reports have hit the net kinda supporting this claim. A massive detail about Holland’s cameo may have been revealed and this may come out as a Spoiler. Take this as a grain of salt as it has been revealed that scenes were being filmed inside a building in Atlanta, and that building was doubling down as the Life Foundation.

The scene would feature Riz Ahmed, who will be playing Carlton Drake (The head of Life Foundation) in the movie. In this scene, Ahmed takes a class of students from a school on a tour of the building. Now, this is where it is being reported that Tom Holland would cameo as Peter Parker, i.e. similar Parker will be present among the rest of the students of his class on that tour.

Now, this is pretty similar to the way some students of Peter’s school went for a competition in Washington, and just like that, they might be taking a tour of the Life Foundation. Well honestly, this is the easiest way to give Peter a cameo in the movie, because we cannot have Peter just pop in anywhere he wants to in the movie and making it seem that it is connected to the larger MCU.

What is even interesting is that the time when these scenes were being shot, Avengers 4 was also shooting in Atlanta so Tom Holland would obviously be there. But he was not reported to be seen on the set of Venom, so everything still remains kind of confusing.

Sony has revealed that Venom will be moving adjacent to the MCU and Kevin Feige has denied so many times that Venom will not be a part of the MCU and it won’t be connected in any way. But if there is a cameo, then what should people believe? Could we see a movie in the future where Tom Holland’s Spider-Man takes on Venom, or we are just being led to believe that Peter Parker is a part of both these separate Universe?.

Spider-man will be next seen in Avengers Infinity War where he will fight Thanos and his Black Order along with Avengers and Guardians wearing Iron Spider suit which is technologically most advanced ever for Spiderman. The official plot synopsis of Avengers Infinity War is as follows:

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.

Everything is so confusing right now and most of the fans would still want Venom to not happen and rather be saved for an appearance later in the MCU. But it is what it is and let’s just keep an open mind and hope that everything works out just fine. Here is the brief synopsis of the movie released by the studio as of now:

“One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award-nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom”.

The movie will be released on October 4, 2018. Do check this one out.
