Avengers Infinity War is the grandest comic book extravaganza that is made possible by Marvel Studios. It is the culmination of everything that has happened till now since the first movie ‘Iron Man’ got released in 2008. It has assembled magnificent cast where we will see over 40 of our beloved superheroes and 67 comic book characters in total.
Marvel has come a long way and with Infinity War it will bring closure to many storylines and put Avengers to the most terrifying adversary they have ever faced – The Mad Titan aka Thanos. He will come to Earth along with his Black Order to steal Infinity Gems in order to assemble an all-powerful gauntlet which grants user God-like powers. He wants to be the ultimate ruler of entire cosmos and nothing less.
In fact, the director duo Russo brothers described Avengers Infinity War as a heist film. Here’s what they said:
“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration”.
In the first official trailer which broke the all-time record for highest viewings on Youtube in the first 24 hours of its release online, we saw Thanos already had two Infinity gems – Space stone (Tesseract) and Power stone (Orb). One of the Infinity stone i.e Soul Gem is yet to be found and is probably hidden somewhere in the Kingdom of Wakanda under the protection of Black Panther.
Moving on….The promotions for the Avengers: Infinity War are ramping up and entering into its last leg, we all saw the new big game TV spot, we all enjoyed it, now let’s get into the digging part. This new teaser brought in so many new things into the mix, giving us a lot in just 30 seconds of time. We got a look at Iron Man’s new suit, a fair bit of Spider-Man and 3 different team-ups (Strange-Spidey-IronMan-Banner, Cap-Nat-Vision-Panther-WinterSoldier, and Thor-Guardians).
This trailer has kicked in quite a bit onto our plates and may have even revealed a spoiler for the fans. Ever since Infinity War was announced, fans have been quite nervous about Vision’s fate as he carries an Infinity Stone in his head and Thanos in order to collect all six stones for his Gauntlet will have to retrieve the stone from Vision somehow.
In the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer, we saw that vision was attacked and what looked like Corvus Glaive was trying to rip off the mind gem out Vision’s head, and he was screaming in pain. People thought that it might be the end of Vision as Thanos is going to get the stone one way or another. Still, there was uncertainty about his fate that will he survive even after the stone taken out of his head or will it be the end of one of the strongest Avengers.
Most fans still believe that Vision will most likely die at the hands of Black Order and this will push Scarlett Witch to the breaking point and drive her insane. But in a recent interview, Paul Bettany aka Vision dropped a bombshell of sorts and said this:
“It felt like the biggest movie that I’ve ever made and will ever make, and we’ve still got to make the next one. It’s f****** crazy!… The call sheets are bananas. When you see the list of cast members, you’re like, “How is anybody else making a film in Hollywood, this year? How are they getting films financed? Everybody is in this!”
He used the phrase “we’ve still got to make the next one”, ‘we’ means including him which might be hinted at the possibility of him surviving Black Order’s attack to retrieve mind gem off his forehead. There are only two likely scenarios – firstly he got critically injured and somehow survived while defending himself but lost the Infinity stone; secondly, a major superhero intervened and saved his life but could not save the Mind Gem.
Vision came into existence when Jarvis’ external matrix was put into an Android and the mind stone gave the android life along with superhuman abilities. So, if the stone is separated from Vision, he might or might not survive depending upon how things are handled by the directors and the writers. He could straight away die or lose his Superpowers because of this fact. Vision could become a human if the Stone is ripped off.
But in this new Infinity War teaser, we see that Vision is kinda hobbling behind Captain America and Natasha as they walk into a facility. Vision looks completely worn off in this scene as if he is coming from a battle or got beat up by someone. This presumably is the aftermath of the scene we saw in the first Infinity War trailer involving Corvus Glaive.
Here we see that Vision still has the Infinity Stone attached to his head, which means that Glaive would be unsuccessful while retrieving the gem for Thanos. Since he is alongside Cap and Black Widow, we can assume that they were the one who saved him from Corvus Glaive. Well, good news for Vision fans as we will get to see more of him because Thanos would have to find a different way to retrieve the mind gem.
Or this scene could be entirely different and the scene involving Corvus Glaive comes later in the movie. Vision could have had some other battle which wore him out. In the first ever set photos that hit the internet, we saw that Vision was involved in a street fight. So this scene could be after that where Vision comes to Cap and Nat in Wakanda to warn them about the upcoming threat. But still, the above assumption made fits much better and this does seem to be a spoiler about vision’s fate.
