Black Panther Has The Highest Grossing First Week In The History of MCU

Black Panther was a groundbreaking masterpiece! There were many things that worked excellently in the movies and one of the reasons why the movie stands out and shines brightly is how amazingly, all the characters have been incorporated in the movies. Also, the story of the movie was beautifully crafted by Director Ryan Coogler. Right from the start to the end, every element worked just perfect and what the Director wanted to deliver was delivered by so many powerful performances throughout the movie.

Ryan Coogler and team tried to explain each and every aspect they touched in the best way possible. Every cast member was on top of their game delivering exactly what was intended by the directors and the writers. This movie would not have worked in any other year. It was just the perfect timing for this movie to come out. Even the timeline of the story was written and incorporated into the MCU very well. This movie was a complete package as it had everything! It had emotion, it had heart, it had humor, it had drama, it had mind-blowing action, and all over, it had a great plot.

This is why the movie is the highest rated comic book movie on Rotten Tomatoes! But the reason why Black Panther has been creating so much buzz in Hollywood is that what it has done on the box office. A month before the release of the movie when the pre-ticket sales began, analysts were tracking the movie at a hefty $90 Million for the opening weekend at the US Box Office. But as the movie kept coming closer to its release, the opening weekend sales were being tracked at above $180 Million and no one had any clue to what the hell is happening.

When the movie actually came out the opening Box office numbers at the domestic box office stood at $201 Million making it the second highest opening weekend for a comic book movie and it was right behind Avengers that had got $207 Million. The fourth-day earnings of the movie took to $242 Million, making it the second highest Box office total for 4 days as Black Panther beat Star Wars: The Last Jedi and only stood behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

What is even crazier is that the movie beat Justice League’s entire US box office run in just 4 days. Justice League brought in $228 Million in 91 days, and Black Panther went past it in less than 4 days. Just imagine that one of Marvel’s characters beat all of DC’s big guns clubbed together in no time in just his first movie.

Then, the movie went on to earn $500 Million worldwide in just 6 days! Now, after 7 days it stands at $520 Million, with a total of $292 Million in the USA itself, and $228 Million in the rest of the countries. Avengers brought in $270 Million in the first week, so Black Panther is currently ahead of every other comic book movie. With the pace Black Panther is moving forward, it will beat the 1 Billion Dollar mark worldwide in no time. This movie will surely become the highest grossing solo Superhero movie and actually has the capability to go on and become the highest grossing comic book movie of all time and take down the first Avengers movie which stands at $1.5 Billion. Moreover, Black Panther has pushed Marvel to earn over $14 Billion!

Marvel has brought in all its heavy hitters this year as every MCU movie is bringing in something very new and very huge into the mix. Black Panther may beat every other Superhero movie, but it will surely be in direct competition with Avengers: Infinity War since that movie may take the reign from Black Panther as well. But who knows, Black Panther has surprised us all and it may end up being the biggest surprise of this year beating even Infinity War.

Black Panther

At this point, there is nothing that could stop this movie as it is tracking a $100 Million for its second weekend as well. God knows how much it is going to end up with when its entire run ends. Feige and co should have announced a sequel to the movie already, but they may be busy swimming in the pool of money this movie has made in such short time. Black Panther is currently playing in theatres, go watch it and celebrate the coming of King T’Challa!
