Chris Hemsworth is one of the most loved actors in Hollywood in the present day. The actor is a major part of the upcoming culmination of a decade of Marvel movies, Avengers: Infinity War. The actor plays Thor, the god of thunder and son of Odin. He has been remarkable in both Avengers and Thor solo movies.
He is one of the primary members of the Avengers and the first line of defense against Josh Brolin’s Thanos. The Avengers Infinity war will see over 40 major characters in one large-scale action sequence. A lot of these characters have been showcased by marvel over the course of it’s Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
The characters confirmed to appear in the Avengers: Infinity War includes Thanos and his Black Order, Black Panther, Captain America, Iron Man, Bruce Banner/Hulk, Thor himself, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Falcon, Spiderman, Scarlett Witch, Nick Fury and many more.
The thing is that thanks to Chris Hemsworth himself and Jimmy Fallon we may have yet another confirmation for the collector to participate in the infinity war. While Chris appeared on Fallon to promote a completely different project, the conversation eventually turned to (obviously) infinity war.
During this discussion, the presenter counted all the stars that were appearing in infinity war beside Hemsworth himself. This was the conversation where the actor confirmed that Benicio Del Toro was also one of the stars participating in the Infinity war
We have all know and appreciated Benicio Del Toro’s performance as the collector. From the after credits scene in Thor: The Dark World to the actors’ full-blown appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy, Benicio has been able to add a certain panache to the character of the collector.
The Collector is one of the wisest, manipulative and clever guys in the entire cosmos. He specializes in keeping the most devastating secrets of the universe. Here’s what he said about Infinity stones:
“Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence, and the remnants of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots… Infinity Stones.”
Speaking from a logical standpoint, it is completely obvious that collector will be a part of Infinity war(the story arc, at least) because he is in possession of one of the infinity stones.
The Collector (after the events of Thor: The Dark World ) is in charge of safeguarding the Aether (Reality stone/Reality gem). Although the character of the collector will say that the singularity belongs to him. The fact remains that one of the infinity gems is aboard nowhere in the vault of the collector
The question remains, however, that whether Thanos will choose to attack nowhere first in order to acquire the Reality stone and then move on earth and Xander. Or perhaps, the collector runs (along with the stone) to Earth to protect it from the grasp of the conqueror (putting his trust in the Terrains). But knowing the collector, the second option seems less than likely.
The collector has always been a snob and a ruthless observer. Even in the comics, it was extremely rare to see him directly confront or interfere in worldly (universal) matters. The collector is a reserved an unbiased character who only cares about his collection and very less about anything else.
The indication (Thanks to Fallon and Hemsworth( also goes to explain as to how Thanos will move throughout the course of the movie. It seems more and more clear (especially since the announcement that infinity war will be a 2-part saga) that the Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 releasing on May 4, 2018, is more of a wind up for what’s to come in 2019. Vis-à-vis the second iteration of infinity war, or rather its climax.
This part seems to be focused more on the collection of infinity gems(stones) and the futile resistance Thanos gets from Team Avengers.
We all know what the conclusion of this war will be, we all know that it is highly likely that by the time we walk out of the theatres on May 4, 2018, we would have just seen Thanos rip apart Earth’s forces and dawn the infinity gauntlet in all its glory. It just seems that Benicio Del Toro’s body might also be part of the rubble when Thanos finally has the gauntlet ready.
The Mad Titan will come to planet Earth with his Black Order to steal Infinity gems and assemble the all-powerful Infinity gauntlet. He wants to be the ultimate ruler of the cosmos. The only thing standing between him and total dominance is combined forces of Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy who will do everything in their power to stop him from getting his hands on Infinity Gems. But it seems they are late.
In the first official trailer for Avengers Infinity War, Thanos has already got two of the five Infinity gems that have been discovered – Space Stone (Tesseract) and Power Stone (Orb). The Soul stone is yet to be found and is speculated to be hidden in Black Panther’s kingdom of Wakanda. In the trailer, we also saw Nomad Cap leading a team of superheroes, ancient warriors, and assassins to prevent Black Order from possibly retrieving an Infinity Gem.
