Here’s Why Batfleck Would Be The Only Batman In Flashpoint

We got tons of DCEU stuff from this year’s Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con. One of the biggest announcements from that panel was the title for the Flash movie and a hint at where it is headed. So the title that was revealed in the movie is – ‘Flashpoint’.

Flashpoint is a story where Barry Allen wakes up to discover everything and everyone around him have changed. He is not Flash nor does he have powers, his mother Nora (deceased in his own timeline) is alive; his father, Henry, died of a heart attack three years ago (instead of being in prison).

Captain Cold is Central City’s greatest hero, the Justice League is never established, Atlanteans and Amazonians are at war lead by Aquaman and Wonder Woman, and even Superman is seemingly non-existent. But, most importantly, Bruce Wayne is not Batman.

It is Thomas Wayne who is the Batman and it was Bruce who died in that alley and Martha Wayne became the Joker in this alternate timeline. So, an alternate timeline has been formed and all these changes happen to everyone’s fate.

Ever since it has been announced that the first Flash movie is, in fact, going to be called FLASHPOINT, people have become really hyped about it since they have always wanted to see this iconic storyline from the comics come to life.

The animated movie made on this storyline, ‘Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox’ nailed the interpretation of this storyline and the same is expected from the live-action movie.

People are excited about this movie as till now, if everything that we know and expect from ‘Flashpoint’ comes true, then according to the comics, we will get a new Batman existing within DCEU, and the actor who plays the iconic villanous role of ‘Negan’ on The Walking Dead, Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be the new Batman, because he played Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

But, if we put logic into this and give an actual thought to the Flashpoint storyline taking into consideration everything from the DCEU, then we’d know that a change of Batman might not be possible in the DCEU and Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne would in fact still remain to be the Batman.

Now you might ask that how would that be possible. Well, in the DCEU, the version of Barry Allen/The Flash is said to be one of the youngest members of the team who is about 24 years old or so. And Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne is older in this universe and was revealed to be around 45 years of age when Batman V Superman came out and his Batman has been said to be existing for the last 20 years. Also in the movie, we saw that Thomas and Martha Wayne died in 1981.

So, in 2017, which is expected to be the timeline of the Justice League movie, and in 2017, the Flash is around 24 years old and Bruce is around 46 years, so after this movie, even if Flash goes back in time in order to save his mom and alter the timeline, which would be about 14-15 years in the past, Bruce Wayne would still be Batman the events of his timeline would not have been changed in the past which means that his parents still died in that alley in 1981, and he grew up to become the Dark Knight.

So, according to simple math and logic, Bruce Wayne would still be alive and be Batman, as there have been no changes made in his past, and only his future from 14-15 years back would be altered. Everything from the Flashpoint comic storyline could be adopted in the live action movie except Bruce’s timeline, it would make no sense at all if DC out of nowhere without any solid explanation changes Bruce Wayne’s past as well. Unless and until what Flash does by going back in time changes the events of the past as well as the future from there on, it is just not possible and sensible.

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman has been confirmed for Flashpoint and soon Aquaman and Cyborg might join in too as all 3 of these play a huge role in the Flashpoint storyline and only their story arcs would make sense in the live Action movie and DC would have to go with Ben Affleck as Batman if they bring in Batman into the movie as well.

So what do you guys think about this? Will DC try to make changes and come up with something in order to adapt the Flashpoint storyline perfectly, or will they go with the theory mentioned above? Tell us in the comments.
