It’s only few weeks left before we see the grandest DC extravaganza on big screen. The DC fans are pumped and totally game to see their favorite superheroes beat the shit out of Steppenwolf. The marketing campaign has entered into its last leg and Warner Bros. is leaving no stone unturned to promote the movie.
The Justice League movie has a strong ensemble cast including Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder-woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Mamoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). The movie is directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio based on the characters of DC comics. The story of Justice League will follow the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and mark the Phase 1 of DC Cinematic Universe. The movie will assemble the greatest DC superheroes under one roof against a terrifying adversary Steppenwolf.
At the end of the Batman v Superman, the Man of Steel was dead, while Batman and Wonder Woman had begun to assemble the Justice League, an elite team of superheroes to fight a supervillain Steppenwolf who has been awakened in the wake of events. The Steppenwolf is basically the military general of Darkseid who have sent parademons to interrogate/kidnap Batman and Earth’s scientists to retrieve Apokoliptian Motherbox which is the most powerful object in the realm.
Till now, the center of attention has been Ben Affleck’s Batman as he is responsible for putting together an elite team of superheroes to protect the planet from the ultimate destruction. This was also reflected in the first synopsis.
Here’s the synopsis of JL:
“In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of meta-humans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions”.
“Once again, Wonder Woman must demonstrate her ability as a fierce warrior. Facing a great enemy, she and Batman join forces to recruit a group of meta-humans to stand against this newly awakened threat. Having formed an unprecedented League of heroes, they set out to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”
The brand new poster of Justice League has been unveiled by official UK twitter account of the movie has the Scarlett Speedster leading the team possibly against an army of para-demons led by Steppenwolf. This is for the first time that we have seen Flash in the lead showing the path to rest of the team members.
There have been reports of massive reshoots by Joss Whedon (Director, The Avengers) who took over the reins after Zack Snyder had to leave it midway due to personal tragedy. The studio has infused additional $25 million into the project. Joss Whedon has apparently taken the knife to the script and has completely changed the tone of the movie. The minor cuts turned into marathon shoots and it is almost confirmed that a co-direct credit will be given to Joss Whedon since he has changed a lot of the movie. Ben Affleck recently said that Justice League “is the product of two different directors” for which Joss Whedon will get a scripting credit for his efforts.
But the breaking news that recently came was that Kiersey Clemons (Iris West) and Jesse Eisenberg’s character (Lex Luthor) have been cut from test screenings of Justice League. Clemons recently said that her experiences on the sets were fucking sick while there has been speculation that Lex Luthor’s role will be totally deleted from JL movie once Joss Whedon took over the reins when Zack Snyder had to leave midway due to personal tragedy. Lex Luthor was sent to Arkham asylum but he ain’t coming back in JL. Moreover, the role of Dark Seid has been significantly slashed and he will be the big villain in JL sequel.
All the DC fans are looking forward to an exciting fun-filled Justice League movie to be released on November 17, 2017. Well, the test screenings have been extremely well-received and some people are calling the movie “Epic”. CHEERS!
