Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for introducing some obscure characters from the comic book world. The Guardians of The Galaxy is a prime example of Marvel executing something for the masses. The next great characters have included Doctor Strange and Ant-Man. And since Ant-Man’s sequel is coming sooner than later, it’s a sure bet that MCU may have something up its sleeve for the titular hero.
Scott Lang had accidentally explored the Quantum Realm in the first movie, exposing fans to another universe within Marvel. And while Doctor Strange explained the Multiverse, the same cannot be said for Quantum. This is one aspect that will be explored further in Ant-Man and The Wasp, or so director Peyton Reed says.
“There was one idea that Hank Pym has forwarded the shrinking and growing technology so that it’s not just necessarily the suits that are the vessels. Maybe it could be vehicles or something else as well. For Ant-Man specifically, in that first movie, the suit, intentionally so, is kind of a relic. It represents his past, so this is really the new iteration that is the modern version of the tech.”
Not only would the Quantum Realm become a focus, The Wasp will have a bigger influence than the first movie. A feat that is anticipated by fans. The Wasp was the wife of Ant-Man and often balanced out the hero’s character flaws. The director said:
“Evangeline is an amazing actress. The first movie was really about her coming into her own as a hero, even though we didn’t see her suit up yet. So we’re so excited about now being able to show her fully formed and what she is as a superhero. Her power set, how she fights, and what are the injustices that matter to her that she wants to right. That’s part of the really fun thing of the next movie.”
