A MAJOR Batman Character To Star In ARROW
The CW’s Arrow has been featuring some major Batman villains in the last few seasons. Ra’s al Ghul was a major player in the last season, being both a mentor and a foe for Oliver Queen. Ghul’s daughter Nyssa al Ghul also had some extended storylines in the series, and now it looks like another family member will be joining the family in Central City.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Talia al Ghul will be a recurring character in the new season of Arrow. Actress Lexa Doing has been cast as the character of Talia. The character has been described as “worldly and cultured, an elite warrior who doesn’t pick sides but rather creates her own.” Talia is an expert hand-to-hand fighter, extremely well-trained in most weapons and highly intelligent. She is set to make her debut in episode 10 of Season 5. It is unclear if Talia will be friend or foe to Oliver and the Arrow team, as both her sister and her father have been in a grey area throughout their multiple appearances on the show.
The appearance of Talia raises the speculation of a Batman appearance in Arrow. Talia al Ghul is a major supervillain in the Batman world, being both lover and foe to the Caped Crusader. They even have a child together, so the possibility of a Bruce Wayne appearance is not far from the mind. The Arrow producers have always made clear how much they love Batman nor have they denied of a likely cameo. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim previously told THR:
“At the end of the day, it’d be so awesome to have Batman on the show. That’d be really cool.I don’t think that will be happening anytime soon, but you never know… one day. One thing we’re always saying… we ended up with a lot more DC Comics characters becoming part of the show than we had ever planned. It wasn’t initially part of the pitch or the conception of the show. … I’ve learned not to expect anything or make any predictions because the reality has far exceeded any of our initial predictions or initial conceptions.”
