Thanos is one of the strongest characters of the Marvel comic book universe. First appearing in Iron Man #55 in 1973, it is no surprise that the tyrant entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He made it to big screens through 2012’s Avenger, appearing in the mid-credits, continuing his role in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Avenger’s Age of Ultron. After the film revealed Thanos’ role of collecting infinity stones, the moviegoers peed in their pants with shock and everybody was looking for diapers. Well, why is he such an interesting character of Marvel? Check out three reasons why Thanos is the most powerful bad guy.
1. Thanos Almost Turned Omnipotent
Thanos has always been desperate to get the different form of power from the Cosmic Cubes, which Marvel introduced in 1966. Each cube held some kind of infinite powers. He was able to attain the powers of a Cube, but he failed to reach omnipotence. Why ? Well, Captain Marvel tricked Thanos and told him that the Cube was out of powers and useless. After Thanos trashed the Cube, Captain Marvel destroyed it.
2. He Killed Millions of People Through Infinity Gauntlet
Designed to hold the six Infinity Gems, Infinity Gauntlet is one of the most integrated forms of power. Moreover, four stones have already been featured in Marvel movies. Space Stone is capable of opening several dimensions and portals. Mind stone has the power bending will of any person. Reality Stone has the power to bend the reality. The fourth one is the Power Stone, which can break any planet into two parts. And the remaining two are the Soul Stone.
