Coca-Cola India has finally decided that their brand,Thums Up will no longer endorse Salman Khan,Sultan of Bollywood. Gotta, they are kidding, right? I mean for years Thums up means Salman Khan. How can someone replace him? Salman has been their brand ambassador for about four years and I guess it is impossible to think of Thums up without him.
As per a joint statement released by both Salman Khan and Coca-Cola India, Salman Khan is associated with a daily TV show which endorses a brand which is a direct competitor of Coca-Cola India. So considering all these factors both parties have decided to discontinue the contract.
Now it is believed that Coca-Cola India is in discussion with Ranveer Singh for endorsement. But do you think Ranveer will be able to pull of the status and standard set by Salman Khan? So, does that mean Salman Khan, the Sultan of Bollywood is supposedly replaced by Ranveer Singh?
A source has also revealed that Coca-Cola India also feels that the Salman Khan was a bit old to endorse their brand and that Ranveer Singh would be a perfect choice. But that’s what the company feels. What about the fans of Salman Khan? Will they appreciate the change? Do you think the sales will be affected because of this change?
Recently, Salman Khan has also been in news for all the bad reasons. Salman Khan gave a comment on the hot discussion of whether Pakistani actors should be banned or not. So, as per him, it is the Indian government who give the Pakistani artists the work permits and hence they should not be equated with terrorist. Well, yes that was his personal opinion, but since he is a star and whatever he says makes news, that can either turn out in his favor or against him. Looks like this one didn’t work well for him.
