Logan has been the talk of the internet for the past three weeks. The upcoming Fox feature had quietly held back for a while but unleashed a plethora of facts and pictures that have gotten fans asking for more. The film did not officially confirm The Wrap’s reveal of the Logan’s synopsis, but it underhandedly confirmed parts of the reveal with the picture posts from director James Mangold’s account.
Now, an official synopsis has been put up for the film on IMDB that seems to build upon all the facts that had previously been leaked. It also confirms a lot of speculation that has been building about the film. Here is the synopsis:
“Set in the future of 2024, Logan and Professor Charles Xavier must cope with the loss of the X-Men when a corporation lead by Nathaniel Essex is destroying the world leaving it to destruction, with Logan’s healing abilities slowly fading away and Xavier’s Alzheimer’s forcing him to forget. Logan must defeat Nathaniel Essex with the help of a young girl named Laura Kinney, a female clone of Wolverine.”
The biggest confirmation is the fact that Nathaniel Essex aka Mister Sinister will indeed play an important role for the upcoming movie. The synopsis also reveals the fate of the X-Men, a future that has not yet been explored exclusively in the X-Men franchise. The franchise has been time hopping in the past few films, so this may not be too surprising.
The synopsis also confirms the appearance of Laura Kinney aka X-23, who in the comics took on the moniker of Wolverine after Logan’s death. She was also created from Logan’s DNA by Mister Sinister, which technically makes Wolverine her biological father. The synopsis, however, shows that the movie will not be entirely based on the Old man Logan comic books, but see parts of it adapted to the screen.
